2 Corinthians 3: 12-18

Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness in speech:

And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which was abolished:

But their minds were blinded; for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is done away in Christ.

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

Now the Lord is that Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Be we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Esther 2:8-11

So it came to pass, when the king’s commandment and his decree was heard, and when maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king’s house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women

And the maiden pleased him and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king’s house; and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of women.

Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred; for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it.

And Mordecai walked every day before the court of the women’s house, to know how Esther did, and what should become of her.

Deuteronomy 33: 26-29

There is none like the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: an he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.

Israel shall dwell in safety: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.

Happy art thou, O Israel; who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! And thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee: and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

II Samuel 22:29-36

For thou are my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness. For by the have I run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

For who is God, save the Lord? And who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken in mine arms. Thou has also given me the shield of salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Nehemiah 4: 7-11, 14b, 15

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth.  And conspired all of them together to come and fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.  Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease…

Be not afraid of them: remember the Lord which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we
returned all of us to the wall, everyone to his work.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Numbers 13:21, 24, 26, 28,29, 33
So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath...
The place was called the brook Eschol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence...
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land...
Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great; moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
The Amalekites dwell in the land to the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coasts of Jordan…
And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which came of the giants; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Mark 14:34-42
And saith unto them, My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.And he went forward a little and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.  And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me, nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?
Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation, The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words. And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy.) neither wist they what to answer him. And he cometh the third time and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hand of sinners.
Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.
Luke 14: 15-24
Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And he sent his servant at super time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of land, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife , and therefore I cannot come.
So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And servant said, Lord, it is done as thou has commanded, and yet there is room.  And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
                              John 10: 1-5
Verily, verily I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
But he that entereth by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
To him the porter openeth, and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and he leadeth them out.
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of a stranger.
Psalm 92: 12-15
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing:
To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in him.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies.
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Exodus 32: 25-29
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies)
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses; and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves this day to the Lord, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; the he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
Colossians 2: 9-17
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In who also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ.  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all your trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And hath spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat , or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Afterward – Peace
“After” means something precedes the present fact. What comes before peace? If peace comes after, a battle must precede. Christians are in a battle and that means suffering. Chastening involves suffering, a painful process. Chastening is correction or ‘child training’. And that hurts. We have failed; we have disobeyed God in some instance. But we turn to Him for forgiveness. In order to continue a Christian, we must turn to Him! He forgives; yes, He is willing and ready to forgive, but we may suffer consequences. That is painful, but when we learn from correction and change our behavior, peace comes.
“Battle.” This is a conflict that tears our nerves and tears our eyes. It challenges our spiritual strength. It isn’t easy. But when we roll our trouble onto God, He adds His strength and we are victorious. God wins the battle when we cling to Him in faith. Then we have victory, and with victory comes peace.
“Peace.” We cannot describe God’s peace! It is calming and healing. When God gives peace, agony and suffering are forgotten. It’s like the dawning of a new day with birds’ sweet songs and flowers, beautiful and fragrant.
Victory and peace will come! When you come to next battle, remember!
Matthew 9:18,19,23-26
While he spake these things unto them, behold, their came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come lay thy hand on her, and she shall live.
And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples….
And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise.
He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
Hebrews 3: 1-6
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus:
Who was faithful to him that appointed him as was also Moses was faithful in all his house.
For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch, as he who builded the house has more honour than the house.
For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
Galatians 2: 16-20
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Luke 10: 30-37
And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, passed by on the other side. And likewise a certain Levite, when he was at the place: came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to the inn, and took care of him.  And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among thieves?
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
I Samuel 11:17, 19, 22-27
And David lament with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son: The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!
***********
From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.  Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
Ye daughters of Israel weep over Saul , who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on the ornaments of gold upon your apparel.  How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou was slain in the high places.
I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to
me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!
Genesis 2: 8-11, 13-15
And God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food: the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it parted, and became into four heads.
The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah …
And the of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
And the Lord God took the man , and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
                       Jonah 2: 1-5, 9,10
Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly, And said, I cried by reason of my affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight: yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head...
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if you love them which love you, what thank have ye? For sinners also love those that love them…
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be called the children of the Highest: for He is kind unto the to unthankful and to the evil.
John 15:12-17
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he may give it you.
These things I command you, that ye love one another.
If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.
And the king said unto me (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? And when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.
Romans 8: 35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Psalm 106:43-48
Many times did he (God) deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity. Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:  And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say Amen. Praise ye the Lord.
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after the lost, until He find it?
And when he hath found it, he layeth it upon his shoulders, rejoicing.
And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found the sheep which was lost.
Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found and they began to make merry.
Likewise I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
II Corinthians 5: 14-17
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
And that he died for all that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
Wherefore henceforth know we know man after the flesh,: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
                  Acts 16:22-26
And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their (Paul and Silas) clothes, and commanded to beat them.
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely:
Who, having receive such a charged thrust them into an inner prison, and made their feet fast in stocks.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bands were loosed.
                        Isaiah 41:8—11, 13,14
But thou Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with my righteousness.
***
For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy redeemer the Holy One of Israel.
                                     Genesis 27: 24-29
And he said, Are thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.
And he said… I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless thee…
And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.
And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him and said, See, thee smell of my son is as the smell of a fieldwhich God hath blessed:
Therefore God give thee the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and
plenty of corn and wine:
Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
            Matthew 4:1– 4, 8-10
Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward and hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said. If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God...
Again the devil taketh him up to an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get the hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
                       Matthew 24:4-6, 9-13
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ: and shall deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet...
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
But he that shall endure unto the end shall be saved.
