After the great success of last season, the Halifax Home Insurance National Youth League is set for its second season. There will be four new teams in this season’s 16 team competition which will again start in September. Halifax Home Insurance will again be the competition sponsors for what should be another exciting season. “If last year was anything to go by then we are in for another tremendous season,” said National Youth League Press Officer Mark Chestney. “We have brought in new teams for this year in Featherstone Lions, Keighley Cougar Cubs, West Bowling and Wigan St. Patricks. They are all teams with a great tradition of rugby league so it will further increase the competition intensity. “Blackbrook, Embassy Longhill and Wigan St. Judes all competed in the inaugural competition last season but will not be with us this year. However our thanks go to these sides for helping to get us off the ground.” A superb competition last season culminated in the Grand Final between eventual champions Widnes Sty. Maries and Siddal. Both sides will be looking to be in the melting pot at the end of this season’s championship but will face stern opposition once again.

The teams taking part this year are:

Bradford Dudley Hill
Castleford Lock Lane
Featherstone Lions
Hensingham
Ince Rose Bridge
Kells
Leigh Eas
Leigh Miners Rangers
Siddal
Waterhead
West Bowling
West Hull
Widnes St. Maries
Wibsey Juniors
Wigan St. Patricks.
