Wisconsin Airedale Terrier Club

Dear WATC Members,

I hope you're enjoying these last weeks of summer.  Fall is just around the corner!

We survived the Floater!  Not only did we survive it, we had a very successful event, enjoyed by many Airedale lovers from all around the U.S.  Sue Reimund has uploaded many pictures on our WATC website  http://www.freewebs.com/watc1/

Hoping to see lots of our members at upcoming events this fall.
~Sue Shannon
PS - Please remember to send me any information that you might want to add to our newsletter.  Puppy information, brags, home address, e-mail address changes, etc.

NASHOTAH PARK
W330 N5113 C.T.H. C
Nashotah, WI  53058

Park Location
Nashotah Park is located between the communities of Oconomowoc and Hartland, 1/2 mile north of U.S.H. 16 on the west side of C.T.H. C. This 443-acre park is nestled among rolling hills, woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands, offering habitat for deer, waterfowl, and a variety of songbirds.

Park Amenities
Nature trails lead through easily identifiable landscape types that were created by the last glacial advance over 10,000 years ago. These landscape types are: a natural lake system, an oak forest, an oak savannah (an area sparsely populated with trees), a cedar glade, a floating leaf marsh, a meadow, a shallow marsh, and a deep marsh. Due to the variety of landscapes, Nashotah Park has an outstanding array of songbirds. The scenery comes alive with different colors for each season.

The WATC Annual Fun Day is planned for Sunday, October 19th.  A couple of our members have mentioned sharing information regarding Rally, Scent articles and Tracking.  More details will follow.  Save the date!  The location is the Racine Kennel Club.

As in the past, we have the opportunity to walk in the Grafton Christmas Parade with our Airedales.  This has been a fun event, but we'd like to determine how much interest there would be, as Sandi Cooley needs to sign us up.  It's the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving, which would be November 29th.  Please e-mail Sandi at RLCDALES@AOL.COM if you might be interested in that event.  She needs to send this in soon, so please drop her a line as soon as possible, indicating your interest in participating.

             BRAGS.........

MACH U-AGII Strongbow Copper Star NF CGC “Starr” finished her Master Agility Championship on Saturday, August 23, 2008.  Starr needed 9 points and got just that in her standard run.  I guess she is better at math than I am!  Later that day, she qualified in jumpers for her 40th double qualifying score.  Starr was ranked the #4 AKC Agility Airedale and was invited to attend the AKC Agility Invitational in Long Beach, CA in December.   Starr is the 8th airedale to earn a MACH title.  Starr was sired by CH Brisline Keystone’s Mr. Cool “Joe” and is the second dog sired by Joe to earn a MACH.  Starr’s dam is CH Huntwood Hannah of Strongbow.  Thanks to Joyce Kravens and Sandi Cooley for breeding such a special girl.  Everywhere Starr goes, she changes other peoples’ perception of the airedale.  I watched in enjoyment last week as Starr worked her magic on Suzanne Clothier and used her airedale mind control to get some treats from her.  She is one of a kind!

Starr is proudly owned and handled by Sue Lienau.

Welcome
