Washington Trail Buddies

Connecting Local Horse Riders with Great Trails

Welcome to Washington Trail Buddies!

Ok, so you have the horse, you have the tack, you have the time, but GULP, now what?  If you're new to horses, new to the area or just looking to hook up with new friends, this is the site for you.  We hope to build a community of local trail users to create an on-line archive of the best equine trails in the area.  We are on our way with west side trails, but we still need east side trails.  A huge thanks to all who have submitted so far!

Don't forget to check out the trail safety and trail etiquette pages!  Sometimes it is the persons who have been riding for ages that have the worst trail manners, so don't assume you don't need to take a peek.  And besides, WTB has written them, so they're fun to read!!  If you are a novice rider, you DEFINATELY want to read them.

Feel free to submit trails, trail news, organized rides, or feedback to us at WashingtonTrailBuddies@hotmail.com.  We've also added WTB's Ride Diary.  See what WTB is upto and comment on the posts!  This is meant to be an open dialogue and no login is necessary.  I'm now starting to add photos to the Ride Diary so come see!

Be sure to check back often as we update the site often and please share the website with other trail riders!  Here is a flyer for you to print and post at your local tack store(s) and feed store(s).  The more traffic we get, the more trails we'll receive!

WTB has added a Trail Links page to highlight trail riding clubs, trail map providers, and more.

WTB has added a trail forum called Trail Chat The forum is a place where you can advertise for a riding buddy, ask trail-related questions, and perhaps sell trail-related goods.  Please let us know if you'd like to add a new forum.  Since we only provide a place for Washington trail riders to meet, we can not endorse, warantee, or guarentee any of the items or information offered in the forum.  Click here to view Trail Chat Rules.

Please forward any 2008 poker rides, fun rides, or charity rides your organizations are hosting and we'll be glad to post them on our Ride Calendar.  The Peninsula Mounted Search and Rescue gets the prize for the first ride submission of the year.

Hey by the way, anyone notice the "hiker" sharing the trail?  At least he is on the appropriate (downhill) side of the path!  If anyone can figure out how to keep the trail photo but delete the hiker (or add an equestrian) let us know!
