Errors

Everybody makes mistakes, right? Even the professionals. Here are a few errors unnoticed by editors...
General Odd Things
In Into The Wild; it takes Firepaw one book to train for becoming a warrior, but when daughters train it takes them 4 books.
In the whole first series Sandstorm's eyes have changed from their original color, pale green, to amber.
Often in the series Firestar is said to have green eyes, but on the cover of the original series books he has yellow eyes. The artist who did the front cover may have forgotten this detail as not all artists read the entire book.

Into The Wild
"His head was spinnning with all the new smells and sights..." pg. 63
On one page Bluestar is called Blusetar.
"...mewed Grewpaw..." pg. 141
Tigerclaw is referred to as Tigerpaw once.
There is a ShadowClan warrior called Boulder. Traditionally, the cats name warriors with two parts (as in 'Leaf' 'pool') although Boulder has a one-part name. In later books, he takes Tigerstar to BloodClan, but how would Boulder be in the Clan so early? It is possible ShadowClan took him in, but ShadowClan are known for disliking cats who are not Clanborn. He also has an apprentice, which would definitely not be likely for a non-Clanborn cat to have.
Fire & Ice
Fireheart is called Firepaw at the beginning of the book, when he just got his warrior name.
Forest Of Secrets
Cinderpaw is referred to as Cinderpelt in the "Allegiances", but is called Cinderpaw in the book.
Rising Storm
Willowpelt has three kits; two she-cats and a tom, but in TNP Rainwhisker and Sootfur are both toms.
Tawnykit is described to have been a ginger she-cat, when later she is said to be a tortoiseshell.
A Dangerous Path
Tigerstar is called Tigerclaw, then Tigerstar, then Tigerclaw 2 more times. This is probably an accident. The same thing happens in The Darkest Hour by Mistyfoot.
There is a rogue described as ginger, fought in the battle with ThunderClan, is in ShadowClan, and is a tom. The only warrior in ShadowClan that was a rogue and fit the description was Russetfur, but Russetfur is a she-cat while the rogue is a tom.
Darkest Hour
"...between the battling cats Firestar caught a glimpse of Tornear from WindClan lying motionless..." pg. 298
"In fact, most of the cats in the clearing came from ShadowClan, though he spotted the RiverClan warriors Mudfur and Heavystep. There was no sign of the either medicine cat, and Firestar wondered if that was significant." (bottom of page 161-162) Mudfur is the RiverClan medicine cat, so this sentence makes no sense.
Tigerstar is spelled TigerStar at one point.
The text calls Tigerstar "Tigerpaw" when explaining about Ravenpaw (page 157).
The text calls Firestar "Fireheart" once while talking about Brightheart.
"Sandstorm" is incorrectly spelled "Sandstrom" on page 202.
Whitestorm's eyes change color from gold to blue. (page 245 "I'm getting these two to inspect the defenses and patch any gaps," he meowed. "If BloodClan gets this far..." He stopped, his blue eyes worried.)
An apprentice refers to Fireheart as Firestar before he took to trip to the Moonstone. However, this may have just been the apprentice showing his/her respect for the new leader.
Firestar's Quest
Three times near the end of the book, Firestar is said to have 6 lives left. This information is from the Power of Three, but Firestar's Quest is supposed to be in between the first series and the second series. Firestar should only have 8 lives left, because he lost one to Scourge.
Midnight
On the cover of Midnight, the cat in the center is Brambleclaw, but his eyes are green.
The book said that Birchkit was the only gray kit (like Ferncloud) but when he is made an apprentice he is a brown tabby like his father (Dustpelt).
Tornear (who died in the battle with BloodClan) is still alive.
Squirrelpaw is said to have her father's dark green eyes. But once, the narrative refered to Sandstorm's pale green eyes as the exact same as Squirrelpaw.
Moonrise
Stoneteller has green eyes, but in the dawn allegainces he has amber eyes!
Leafpaw is called Lafpaw once.
Stormfur is referred to as "Sormfur" by the narrative.
Tawnypelt is called Tawnypaw, even though she received her Warrior name between the original series and The New Prophecy. The same thing happened in Dawn and Starlight.
Twice the picture that the books showed on each chapter was the picture in the center of the cover of the book, which it wasn't supposed to be. It might have indicated the chapters in which the story is told under Feathertail's perspective.
Dawn
Smokepaw falls off a cliff and dies in Dawn, but comes back in Starlight
Gorsepaw, the WindClan apprentice is killed by Tigerstar in the Darkest Hour, but returns in Dawn as Gorsetail.
Tawnypelt is called Tawnypaw for four pages.
It refers to Firestar as "the ThunderClan" instead of "the ThunderClan leader".
Marshkit is said to be a she-cat, but in the next sentence, she is said to be a tom on page 296.
After Smokepaw died, it said he was a ShadowClan apprentice, whereas it says he is a RiverClan apprentice on page 279.
Starlight
Rowanclaw is listed as a tom, when she was a she-cat in books 7-9.
Cloudtail says "Leave it Blackclaw to say something." (should have been Blackstar)
Runningnose is mentioned in the allegiances when he stayed behind in Dawn.
On one page Whitepaw is called Whitetail.
Cloudtail is Spiderpaw's mentor in the allegiances, when Mousefur is his mentor.
After her warrior ceremony, Squirrelflight is called Squirrelpaw once on a page.
Smokepaw is listed in the Allegiances, although he died in the previous book, Dawn. He was also listed in the allegiances in Twilight and Sunset and in The Sight he is a warrior called Smokefoot, however this may just be an entirely different cat.
Blackstar is called Blackfoot which was his warrior name.
Blackclaw is said to be a WindClan warrior, though he is a RiverClan warrior.
Nightcloud isn't mentioned in the Allegiances, but she takes part in the fight on page 305. '...Squirrelflight again, this time locked in combat with Nightcloud...'
Marshkit, Applekit, and Toadkit (Tallpoppy's kits) were never mentioned again after Starlight. (There is a possibility that they died, although this was never mentioned.) They also disappear from the Allegiances in The Sight. The same thing happens with Tumblekit, Dawnflower's kit.
For the first few books of The New Prophecy, Rowanclaw is said to be a she-cat, but starting in Starlight, Rowanclaw is referred to as a tom.
Twilight
"...Bramblelclaw's words could have been..." pg. 109
Leafpool is once referred to as Leafpaw.
Rippletail is a she-cat. In The Sight she is listed as a tom.
Sunset
In Sunset when Mousefur called a meeting and the meeting ended it said that Brambleclaw walked up to Stormfur, "his blue eyes full of pain" when Stormfur has yellow eyes like his father, Graystripe.
In Sunset when Brambleclaw and Cloudtail go to see Daisy and her kits, Brambleclaw says that Floss and Daisy might be kin. But Floss has gray and white fur, and Daisy has cream colored fur. 'Floss's pelt was gray and black like Daisy's; Brambleclaw wondered whether they might be littermates.' Page, 189.
Heavystep became an elder too fast. He was only an apprentice in Rising Storm but was an elder that died by Sunset. His mentor, Blackclaw, is still a warrior. However, Heavystep may have developed problems that forced him to retire early, like Longtail going blind. The same goes to Shadepelt, whose mentor was Stonefur, who would've been the same age as Mistyfoot, who's still a warrior.
When Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost are meeting with Tigerstar, he was once referred to as Tigerclaw.
The Sight
"...Firestorm was grooming..." pg. 325
Heavystep (who died as an elder in RiverClan in Sunset) is still listed in the Allegiances as an elder. Also, Smokepaw, who died on the Great Journey, seems to reappear as Smokefoot. There is a possibility that Smokefoot is a different cat.
On page 222, Dustpelt tells Stormfur, "Your father was a ThunderClan warrior." However, Graystripe, Stormfur's father, had already returned to the Clans by then.
Rippletail (who was Ripplepaw, a she-cat from page 156 of Twilight) is now a warrior but is also a tom.
Cedarheart became an elder too fast, even though older characters from the original series (like Blackclaw and Tornear) have yet to become elders.
They said that Leafpool went to WindClan for catmint, when she actually went to RiverClan for the catmint. WindClan came to Leafpool first for the catmint.
Before Jaypaw's naming ceremony (then Jaykit), they referred to him once as Jaypaw.
When the dogs attack, Dustpelt and Cloudtail are confused with each other. First, it says that Thornclaw and Cloudtail went to help WindClan with the dogs, but later it reads that Thornclaw and Dustpelt came running after the dog.
When the dogs attack WindClan, Spiderleg said,"Remember the last time dogs attacked us?" However, the last time dogs attacked the whole of ThunderClan was in A Dangerous Path, when Spiderleg wasn't born yet. However, Ferncloud (who helped chase the dogs) may have told him about it.
There are some hints that Thornclaw is in love with Whitewing, but Thornclaw is Whitewing's uncle.
It is said in the Allegiances that there is a character called Snowbird, but she would have been an apprentice in Sunset. Many think she was a rogue or a loner invited into ShadowClan. It might also be a mistake with Snowkit, a deaf ThunderClan kit who was carried away by a hawk in A Dangerous Path. It could possibly be the same kit, only she fell into ShadowClan territory and was made an apprentice into a warrior through the gap between The Sight and Sunset. But Snowkit was a deaf tom. ShadowClan probably wouldn't have made a deaf cat a warrior, since some don't think a kittypet or blind cat can be a warrior.
In an excerpt of Dark River in the back of The Sight, there are two mistakes. Mousepaw is called Mousefur once by Hollypaw and once by Cinderpaw. The character called Mousefur is a ThunderClan elder, and Mousepaw is a ThunderClan apprentice, one of Daisy's young.
Berrypaw told Mousepaw if he hadn't clamped his tail over Mousepaw's mouth, he would have told Russetfur that Firestar was ready to give the territory to ShadowClan. However, in Sunset, Berrypaw, then known as Berrykit, lost pretty much all of his tail in a fox trap.
Webfoot became an elder too fast. Tornear is older than him and HE hasn't become an elder yet, though he could have become an elder from disabilities like Longtail.
Stonestream and Swallowtail were made elders too fast (they were made warriors in Starlight and Dawn, respectively).
On page 288, Owlfeather is referred to as "Owlwhisker". This is also said in Sunset as well.
On page 291 the book said that there were tunnels leading into the thick hedge around the WindClan camp that were leading to dens, but in Starlight Crowfeather said WindClan cats sleep in the open, not in dens.
The Lost Warrior
The Secrets of the Clans
On pg. 105, under Redtail, it says, "Firestar ever met Bluestar's first deputy...", however it should say, "Firestar never met Bluestar's first Deputy...".
