Don't forget, my bunnies live happy lives where they get to experience the sunshine, play on the grass and get lots of love and attention. They are not harmed in any way in the making of these scarves. Their wool grows constantly so trimming their fur is an important part of keeping them healthy. You can enjoy the luxury of guilt free fur.

I source wool and alpaca from local people who love and care for their animals so you can feel warm and fuzzy on the inside as well as on the out side. I can even tell you the name of the exact animal your luxury natural spinning fibre has come from.

My angora scarves and hats can now also be found at the Peppercorn gallery in Richmond Tasmania and Tara's knitting needles can be purchased from the Tasmanian wool company  in Salamanca place in Tasmania.

I will be listing more things soon so check back to see what's available.

                                 Angora Fibre

The following fibre has been trimmed from the bunny (not plucked) I use scissors and carefully place each lock in the bag removing the short second cuts as I go. This is straight off the bunny unwashed. I do not include any mats or soiled wool. Only the lovely stuff I would spin myself. The angora colours are very subtle indeed but I will try to depict them as best I can because I think each kind has it's own special qualities. I groom my angoras to get a nice long coat before I clip them. The clipped fibre varies in length but I try not to include fibre shorter than 4 cms. The majority of fibre in each bag is around 6 cm and can be up to 10 cm long. Clipped angora is $7.50 for a 25 gram bag.

Above is an example of clipped angora locks typical of the fibre I sell to spinners.

                                                Smoke

Grey or 'smoke' is my favourite angora colour. The tones range from white to deep grey with black guard hairs. The finnished yarn can also be dyed to create lovely deep tonal effect.

                                           Sooty fawn

''sooty fawn' contains honey and light grey tones with cream and white.

                                                           Blue

Photo doesn't quite do Justice but the fur from the "Blue" angora is a snowy white with silvery hairs throughout. If you want a natural looking white scarf I think the silvery grey hairs give it some defintion. (25 grams in stock)

                                    gold

"Gold"  is a soft cream with honey highlights. ( packet is in the picture).

                                                                    white

Pure "white" from the Albino Angora is simply pristine. Takes dye beatifully and blends well with silk, wool alpaca,or mohair.

                      Plucked Angora Fibre

Plucked angora fibre is the finest fibre you are likely to find. I gently remove the fur from the rabbit when it naturally sheds its coat. Some is removed from the bunny each day and carefully placed in a plastic container with all the fibres aligned. The awn and gaurd hair are the same long length and there are no matts, soiled fibre or double cuts. This is perfect for spinning superfine heirloom quality yarn. Price is $10 for 20 grams.

Plucked fibre from Tinkerbelle 20 grams in stock.

Plucked fibre from Gulliver and Collette 80 grams in stock.

                        Dyed angora roving

This is the first time I have offered this. It is exclusive to Warm'n'fuzzie.

100% angora roving. Dyed a bright sky blue colour. It consistst  of only the prime long angora (from Ludwig). Fibre length is around 6cm. carded into an easy to spin roving. It would blend well with silk, alpaca, wool or mohair. You may like to try plying it side by side with alpaca or wool for a larger garment or simply spin pure for something truley soft and luxurious. 25 grams  $10

Also in rose pink  (currently out of stock)

                                   Blended Fibre

I've created this lovely pure white carded blend of approximately 40% Angora, 50 % white alpaca and 10% mulberry silk. For those who find pure angora too tricky to spin or simply want a light bulky yarn. This will spin easily, have the added warmth and softness of angora and a hint of silk for shine. You can dye your finished yarn any colour you like or keep it naturally white. $12 per 50 gram bag. 1 x 50 gram bags in stock

                                  Raw Alpaca

entire raw alpaca fleeces are available. They are from local alpaca breeders. I prefere to only sell raw fleece locally to spiners who can pick up from here. prices vary based on weight and quality. I will put up a list of the colours in stock soon.

                             Processed Alpaca

This is locally grown alpca. It has been sorted , picked, washed and carded ready to spin.     $6 per 100 gram bag.

                                                                 Gretle

Gretel's fleece is a stonger fibre type, not super fine, yet is still soft enough to make lovely wearable yarn with a nice shine. It has a lovely stormy grey tones and blends beautifully with the 'smoke grey' coloured angora.

                                                   Aphrodite

Aphrodite has a lovely, soft, caramel and white fleece with a naturtal crimp.  I dont blend the colours copmpletely as I love to be able to see some of the colours still visable in the finished garment.

                                        Cheiftan

Cheiftan has a very fine fleece with a lovely natural crimp. He is not completely white though and the caramel fibres from his spots can still be seen through out.

                              Hand Dyed Alpaca

Coloured alpaca has bee washed ,dyed and carded ready to spin or felt.$10 per 100 grams   can be made to order in a multitude of colours such as green, blue, yellow, red, orange, purple, pink, bright and pastel, natural, multi tones and combinations.

         Purples and pinks                                    RED

Greens and Blues                              Orange and yellow

                                  Sheep  wool

I grew up on a polewarth stud farm. Polewarth wool is almost as fine as Merino but is much softer. Usually around 19 to 23 micron. My parents still run polewarth sheep as they have done for 60 years and I can easily source high quality white spinning wool straight from the farm. They have struggled terribly in the drought so all proceeds go straight to feeding the animals as everything is being hand fed at the moment.

                               alpaca   processing

I am now offering processing at an introductory price of $20 per fleece. This includes sorting, picking, washing and carding into  a ready to spin light weight roving. The neck and belly will be seperated out and processed seperately so you can use it for stuffing or felting. Dying can also be arranged for an added cost. If you have a particular fleece you want prepared for spinning I can do it without needing to blend it with wool or mixing it up with any other fleece.

fleece before and after carding. The carding machine in the backgound. Hopefully one day I'll have a lovely fibre arts studio but for now I make do.
