ABOUT WAREHAM CHORAL SOCIETY

Don't miss our Spring concert on Sat July 15th - details available soon!

We are an aspirational choir, directed by a professional musician, Nigel Groome, who enjoys working with enthusiastic singers, both trained and untrained.

We enjoy the challenge of new music and are familiar with the standard choral repertoire.

We have vacancies in all parts. There are no  auditions, but enthusiasm and commitment are essential. We'd like to hear from you!

We rehearse in the United Reformed Church in Wareham on Monday evenings from 7:15pm to 9:15pm, beginning in September, preparing for several concerts each year.

Our traditional Christmas concert is held in Lady St Mary's Church in Wareham.

We belong to the Dorset Guild of Singers, and we join with other local Guild choirs every two years to perform larger-scale works at the Lighthouse in Poole.

In non-Guild years, we perform an Easter concert, usually at Lady St. Mary, and last year we extended our season and our repertoire to encompass a summer concert at Tyneham Barn.

Our concert this summer will be in the beautiful surroundings of Rollington Barn, nestling in the Purbeck hills near Corfe Castle.

This year for the first time we hosted a very successful Come-and-Sing afternoon at Bere Regis church and we shall hold more of these events in future.

Our fees are £50 each term. Scholarships may be  available for young people.

We are a registered charity, and regularly donate to local charities from the proceeds of our concerts. Member subscriptions can be gift-aided; you can download a gift-aid form here.
