Well, Well, Well...Looks like you found us finally.
Welcome to the Wink Applebee & The Medicinal Nine (WAM9) official web site!
But what IS Trash Rock?
Trash Rock is the type of rock played by only those who do not care what they sound, or look, like.
Except for Adam, who is a preeny little Peacock-Puff.
Established in the sweet, sweet summer of 'aght-5 (2005 five to you non-1800's California Gold Rush prospectors), Wink Applebee & The Medicinal Nine (9) are the very epitome of Trash Rock, the core and founders if you will. I dare say if they were to have not gotten together in the same room to make a little of this and that, make a few indirect inside jokes, and record IT ALL, Trash Rock, as we know it, would never even have existed. Ever.
A frightening thought, I'm sure you're all thinking the same.
No?
Neither was I. Trash Rock is some Bullshit, made up word out of Marcus's sick, detached mind.
1-3-07: The last and final WAM9 album is over and out. It's title? "Farewell Album". It's another double album. Due to Adam breaking his bass drum, he sets a minimalistic drumming style on this one. And we mean last when we say last. There will be no more WAM9 as of now. Although any hardcore fans can take hope in a B-Sides and Rarities CD very, very soon. In it's 33 or so track span, WAM9's Farewell Album is sure to be a tasteful bow.
'Bye Louise. For realsies.
8-24-06: The 12th Album (Canoe) has been released. It's another double album with 40 tracks. Enjoy
7-26-06: The 11th album (Silver Ballet) is out of the bag, and while the structure of the 12th album ("Canoe",as of yet unrecorded) is not for sure known, there are plans in the works for the as of yet unnamed 13th album to be a Rock Opera. About what? I aint tellin'.
'Bye Louise
6-22-06: Moisture. Guess what? WAM9 is seriously pondering up some thoughts for doing an album full of Residents-esque songs. Songs done in the style of The Residents if you will. Possible album names include "Songs Our Residents Taught Us". E-mail Adam if you want a copy of the new compilation titled "All ina Daze Work". It has 28 tracks ranging from "Goulag" all the way to "No Pressure". It's an exciting time. A real exciting time indeed fellas and non-fellas. I'd also like to take this time to mention The Yoda Club.
'Bye Louise
6-18-06: Righty Right right right righteight. New 9MAW compilation. all updated with the fresh hits of the newer albums for YOU!*
6-16-06: Yay! The show was nice. Marcus couldn't show, so it wasn't really WAM9. But me and James had a good time playing no wave songs.
6-08-08: The Ol' 10th album is finished! It's got 102 words in the title! It's our 1st double album! There are 32 songs! 1st WAM9 show this saturday! w00t!
6-03-06: Our 9th album, President Now More Than Ever, has been done and released for a while now...just so you know. It's got some good songs, some bad songs...it's typical WAM9. O! But it has "Stupid Human Tricks" on it, it's our "Revolution 9". Overdub-tastic. We may have a show coming up on the 10th at a graduation party, it's yet to be all the way confirmed, even though we've been told we can play there. That should be fun. We've got a live set list now, including Rumble by Link Wray, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, and Lola by The Kinks. Recording for the 10th album is in process. Yay.
'Bye Louise
5-10-06: OMG. WAM9's 8th album, Janibeg, is done. But I don't think Marcus has it up on Archive.org ye, so you'll all have to wonder how delicious it tastes for now. At least you can look at the track names in the discography section. Janibeg's the album with the most covers we've ever done on it. It's Got about 26 tracks. Ooh, I also think it's the first album we've used keyboards on. And the majority of the tracks are teeny-tiny songs. Also, it's the first album to have a commercial on it. We might think about doing an album that is mostly or all commercials. That, my friends and neighbors, would be a treat. A TREAT. Well, it's enjoyable anyway. Hope you likes the cut of it's jib.
'Bye Louise.
5-2-06: Well, would you like to know what? The WAM9 compilation, Tea-Tree Oil: A Look Back On The Past, has just been finished being put together by Adam last night. He worked on it for a long time, so you know it's good. It contains 23 of the best WAM9 delectibles on CD, and has material from Goulag to Fodder. Yes sir, two years of music on a good ol' plastic circle. Also, there may be some recording this weekend to look forward to.
'Bye, Louise.
4-24-06: Well, with the completion of WAM9's seventh album, the Boys are taking a bit of a break. I know, I know, how can Trash Rockers take time off for a break? It's down-right conspicuous, isn't it not? But you can all put down your mallets of vengeful hatred. Why, you ask? Well. I'm not one to spin old wives's yarns, but there's rumor of WAM9 putting out an Emo CD under the pseudonym "Tearful Heart Parade". Now it's just a little word off the grapevine, but, eh? Who knows? Wink loves to keep his audience on his toes, you know. That's all for now. Keep in touch, but not within reach.
'Bye, Louise.
