Referee Courses
Lads - Have you ever thought about being that nice person who everyone appreciates and is dressed in black? No! not a priest, a REFEREE!!!!
Check out the Referee Courses on the LFA Web Site by following the link below. Believe it or not, but that man in the middle that you think so highly off gets paid 20 a match. I know that this may seem a lot to a young lad, but when you think about the task in hand (i.e. some players and Parent's constantly asking you if you've ever seen your father lol), then you will appreciate that it isn't really a great sum. However, it is a great form of education to the rules of the game, gives you wonderful experience in being able to deal with difficult situations and will look extremely good to a potential employer on your C.V., when you try to get a job in a few years time.
Now I know that many of you may already think that you don't need to go on a course because you know the rules better than any referee you've ever come accross (eh John), but I promise you, you will be surprised how much you still have to learn about the rules of the game. We're all always learning about the rules of the game as we progress in our footballing life. I've been involved in the game for 34 years and I'm still waiting for a referee to explain to me about the second phase of the off side rule, my quest will continue.
I you do decide to try out the referee courses let me know.

We are the smallest but still one of the best-run clubs in the CLJFL. When some clubs get too big they lose control over their teams and parents, but we operate as a small club, which allows us to have a high moral standard and encourage our players to adopt a high standard of sporting behaviour. We don't support verbal abuse of any children from either Management, Coaches or Parents whether it is our own or the oppositions children. We do not support the drinking of alcohol by spectating parents at the side of a pitch. We do not support the use of foul language by either our players or Parents whether it is on or off the pitch. We are a club that any decent Parent would proud to have their children with us as a member. We are a club that doesn't just care about result on the field, but also about the way we treat all children both on and off the pitch. We are a small club but a unique club and any player that plays for us is also unique and special because we're the one and only Walton Wanderers JFC.
