Hi, my name is Dale Collins I am 46 years of age and live in Doncaster South Yorkshire. I've always been the type of person who likes a challenge and after the very sad and unfortunate deaths of three very close friends to Cancer I've decided to do my bit and raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. After losing three very close friends to this terrible disease Ive decided to do my bit and raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. Although my ride is in memory of Julie,Maggie & Tina, its also for everyone else who is at this moment is having to live with this disease.

Cancer will affect 1 person in 3 in this country and I bet you know of somebody who is either suffering from this disease or has suffered from it in the past.

Since I took up the challenge of cycling 950 miles in just 9 days in Aid of Cancer Research I have met many people who have given me great support and given so generously. I would like to thank each and everyone of you who have pledged or sponsored me for this event.

Cycling 950 miles in 9 days will be a very hard and demanding challenge but its one Im sure I will fulfill.

My wife June and son Scott were initially going to be my back up team. But due to the expense of it all, it seemed as though this wouldnt be possible. But after some fine tweaking of family expenses etc they are both now going to be able to join me at Preston after day 4.

Can I make it known that the water incident which was mentioned in Day has been rectified, it wasnt the Rumwell Manor Hotel who refused me the water but the Rumwell Inn, I sincerely apologise for any inconveniance caused to the Rumwell Manor Hotel.
