WALKING IN GRACE

BENEATH HIS WINGS

Today I think I'll be a "BIRD".

Birds are very unique,  and they can teach us so much.  When a bird is hatched it already knows it needs to depend on its mother and father for its food.  It is content to rest safely in the nest it is provided. Me,  I tend to think I am ready to take on the world,  when in fact the world will devour me,  so I must learn to depend on my heavenly father to take care of me.  A Thornbird is amazing in the fact that it will sing,  even when it is dying.  Me, I tend to be too pityful to sing when troubles come my way.  The birds of the air are used in the bible- as an example -when Jesus tells the parable about how they do not toil nor spin yet he cares enough for them that he meets their need.  He tells about how he sees each one that falls,  so why do I seem surprized that he cares enough for me to see each tear that falls from these eyes of mine.  He says that we are far greater to him than the birds- so imagine just how much he must love us,  and just how tender he can be if he can hold the birds of the air in the palm of his hand.

The birds do not fear the storms of life,  for they know that  the one who created them,  will be there to protect them.  How often I forget that my creator holds my future gently in the palm of his hands.  Last,  and most amazing to me is the great devotion that the birds have for thier offspring.  Growing up in West Virginia I saw a lot of the antics of animals. I remember how afraid my Mama was of the one chicken that would chase her around in the yard if she got too close to her baby chicks.  I learned first hand what a bird would do to protect thier young when I had citrus trees in my back yard and one day in the springtime  I let my two big dogs out,  and they ventured over to one of the trees.  All of a sudden a commotion statred that scared me half to death,  A bird in that tree went to wollering on the ground right in front of my two big dogs like it was dying.  It never once thought about its safety...all it cared about was making sure that its little ones came to no harm.  I quickly gathered up my dogs and was so happy that they were unable (unwilling) to harm the bird on the ground, knowing that it could have been a terrible sight to behold.  That brought me to realize the love that my heavenly father has for me ( and you),  that one day he placed himself in harms way,  to protect the one he loves so much.  I can only imagine that indeed that was a terrible sight to behold,  because he was not spared from the harm of those who sought to destroy him.

Last I read a story about a nest of Eagles (I believe it was)  that was living in the forest when a terrible fire broke out.  They said that when they went to observe the damages,  there in the rubble of the charred trees they saw a touching sight.  The mama bird could have left the nest and ran to safety,  but instead she had the young ones tucked up beneath her wings.  This served to remind me of just how much Jesus cares for me.  He could have called ten thousand angels on the day he was placed upon that old rugged cross,  and he would have been free set; but instead he chose to stretch forth his arms...just as that mama bird did that day,  and grant us safety...beneath his wings. One bird came out of a tree and placed herself on the ground so that her young might be saved.  Jesus went to a tree and placed himself there as the ultimate sacrifice,  so that we might be saved.

Today I think that I wil be a "BIRD".  I know that my heavenly father will meet my every need,  because I am far greater to him than the sparrows of the air. I know that he will protect me,  and that I have no need to fear -for he holds me gently in the palm of his hands. I know that he stretched forth his arms and died that I might have eternal life, and if he loved me this much,  he will open up his arms and hide me beneath his wings.

Today remind me  Lord that I am a "BIRD"...

BLESSED

INCREDIBLY  FAVORED

REDEEMED

DELIVERED  !

No matter what you may be facing in your life  know this my friend...that the victory has already been given to you...all you need to do is claim it.  You can rest beneath the wings of an almighty God...just by humbling yourself and speaking the words of Gods promise that we have been made more than conquerers.  When you're too tired to fight...

REST beneath his wings.

Thanks

God has done some amazing things in my life, and I am always being blessed by simple things that might not seem like much to others but is just another confirmation that God stays one step ahead of me all the time.

I try to set up music that will encourage, uplift, and touch the heart of my readers,  and God has supplied me with a group of singers that are now very special to me.  When I wrote this I had no music in mind....but God was (always is )  one step ahead of me.  This song seemed perfect for the message I had intended for all those who might view this page.

Thanks Bob (Southern Harmony) for loaning it to me.  I know it will be a blessing.
