Short Film Water Baby

The youth from INK area (Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu) in partnership with Wala-Wala Productions (NPO) will be shooting a short film which is written by Spha Mzobe. This is the beginning of a project called Our Stories, Our People, a project which is aimed at transferring skills while educating our youth about various issues using films as a medium that the youth mostly responds to.

We request that you meet us half way and donate anything you can afford, contacts, equipment/camera, airtime, spread the message, drinks, food and transport for actors, crew and trainers (3days X 40 people). This is envisaged to put our local townships to the global map. Should it happens that you are not in a possesion to help, please forward this to someone that you think will be interested.

The film Water Baby is a story of a pregnant woman who lost the child having a fight with her violent husband. She meets another man from whom she also desires a child but is unable to because her wounds of the past are not yet healed. Its a story of emotions that cover the trauma of a woman unable to embrace love any more.

Professional film producers, directors and actors have donated their time to be part of this project to share their skills and motivate local artists and general public of this area.

Everybody have a story to tell, if we don't help our youth to tell their stories we are socially and economically silencing our own people against the world and I am afraid of what is to become of us in the face of the world.

For more information about Our Stories, Our People and other partners please contact the Spha Mzobe on:+2773 22 08 458 or
