Ronald B. Salem has been a consultant pharmacist for over 25 years. He received his B.S. and Pharm.D. from the University of Florida in 1978 and 1980, respectively. Dr. Salem has over 20 publications in the clinical use of psychiatric and anti-epileptic drugs. He has also been very active in governmental affairs on the state and national level. Governor Bush appointed Dr. Salem to the AHCA Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee in August 2001. As Chairman from 2001-2003, Salem worked to develop and implement a Medicaid preferred drug list as mandated in the 2000 session of the Florida legislature, saving an estimated 500 million to the state. In December of 2003, Governor Bush appointed Dr. Salem to the Board of Pharmacy. He served as Chairman in 2007.
