Welcome to VYM Japan!
Volunteer Youth Ministry in Japan provides a unique service, which endeavors to spread the Gospel of Christ through lay missionaries serving as English teachers. Volunteers commit themselves for 2-1/2 years to a ministry where giving is essential and rewarding. “Youth” refers to young adults with a college degree, single or married, who are willing to give of themselves. Ministry involves an every-day, every-minute witness to Jesus and the life that a Christian leads.
Purpose Statement
It is the purpose of the VYM Japan Program to participate in the overall ministry of our sending church, LCMS World Mission, and of our partner church, The Japan Lutheran Church, by evangelizing and nurturing faith in Jesus Christ through educational and relational outreach ministries.
Will You Go?
Is all this interesting to you? Does it sound like something you might like to do? For more information, here is a description of what a Volunteer Youth Minister does. If you would like to talk with someone about serving as a volunteer in Japan, please contact an LCMS World Mission placement counselor.
Will you answer the call to serve as a missionary?
