Hello and Welcome to my Vee Dub web-site.

This site tells the story of Herbus the 1977 Bay. He was found in a bit of a state and I rescued him, rebuilt him, and made him a very happy camper.

I will also show you my travels in Herb, and a few of the festivals I've attended. I will also put on some helpful hints for those doing the maintenance, and restoration.

Mostly I just want to show you my bus and how proud I am of him. He may not be a show winner, but he is all mine, and all created by me.

My name is Vikki, I'm in my mid-twenties and am from the Leeds area. I love pets, and currently have a rabbit called Fred. Unfortunately he cannot share the adventures and trips away in Herbus. Instead he holidays at his grandma's.

I am a member of a Vee Dub group. The Volkswagen Type 2 Owners Club, which can be found here: http://www.vwt2oc.org.uk . It is great source of information and they are a good bunch.

Herbus is my first Volksie, but I am planning on getting a Beetle in the future............. but at present I have a Ford as my daily drive. Besides I am not totally happy with the interior of Herbus and I have further modifications to make. I keep looking for inspiration in magazines, on web-sites and at shows, but nothing seems to fit the bill. The section on interior, will show the ongoing development of Herbus's interior and the changing shape of it.

I like most types of music, and love body-boarding with my long-suffering board buddy Mel. I also enjoy going to festivals and Vee Dub spotting wherever I go.

Just a little something to think about. My friend said this years ago, and it's always worthwhile remembering...........

 

Nothing Matters Much And Most Things Don't Matter At All.

 

I especially think of this when I've just dropped my ratchet on my foot...... not good.

I currently live in Brighouse with my gal Kaz . She features in quite a few of the Adventures, and main hols of course. She puts up with my VW obsessions and helps out where ever needed and can do, she's also made a few impovements in Herb with things too......

....... can't say much more or it will go to her head 

I'm glad I got her, and hope she feels the same way about me and the lads (Herb & Sanch & Gromit)

Yes Herb has fame at last and the recognition he deserves. These are pics of Herb in the local paper in July 2006 and in the November edition of VW Camper and Bus on the Vanfest pics.
