Damage Safety

If you are holding your calc, dont move your arms wildly. Also, try not to carry your calc in your pants pockets.  It can be easily knocked out and fall and crack or worse.....  Sorry to say that there is virtually no way to protect it from harm if someone else has it. If you want to know how to protect it from getting into the hands of the wrong people, see Protection from the Jerks at School. Also, dont leave your calc in the car if it is either very warm out side or very cold.  It can cause permanent damage.

Protection from stealing

Always scratch your name on the back of your calc, where it says, "NAME NOM". A sticker can be easily ripped off. (Not that they couldn't scratch out your name or do damage to the calc. see also: protection from damage) Also, try not to leave it in a place where it might get stolen, such as in a classroom that you are not in. If you are not using it, you should probably leave it in your locker. Just make sure no one that would do it harm knows your combination, or if they do, hide it something so they think you have it. Amazing how unsafe you realize your calculator is!

Safety from the Jerks at School

I would simply recommend downloading Krolypto by Detached Solutions.  It offers password protection to the apps menu, the memory menu, the program menu, and when you turn on your calc.Click here to go to the Detached Solutions features page and scroll down to Krolypto v1.3.  Or, if you want more info on it, go here. If you simply want to keep them from playing your games or doing anything in Mirage, create a password required to open mirage by pressing alpha(while in mirage), scroll down to password protection and press enter, press 2nd while the cursor is next to enable pw protect, scroll down to set/alter password, press enter, enter your password (must be 6 characters), it automatically scrolls down to re-enter password, enter password again and press enter, press clear repeatedly to go back to the mirage main interface.  From then on, whenever you open Mirage, it requires your password to be entered in order to operate.  The password is stored in archive as an App Var. If you forget stuff, like passwords, though, DO NOT!, I REPEAT DO NOT! BLOCK THE MEMORY MENU FROM ACCESS! If you do, and have a password that you forgot, then you must reinstall Mirage and the AppVar will be deleted. That happened to me once.. Don't do it. Another way is to delete the AppVar using TI Connect and if you dont understand what i just said, then forget that option...
