Practicing What I Teach

Darin Gerdes is a high school government teacher, at StoneBridge School, who is running for the at-large seat on the city council in Va. Beach     

                                       

He seeks to do more for his students than just teach them facts about past and present governments out of textbooks. He wants them to fully understand the principles behind the workings of our government. During this election Dr. Gerdes will not only run an efficient campaign but use the oppurtunity to teach his students more about the political process.

Dr. Gerdes is running because he is tired of seeing the city government do things that undermine what he is teaching about how government is supposed to work. He is not a realtor or a businessman. As a teacher his only intent is good government.

Dr. Gerdes offers two campaign promises- as a candidate I will not campaign negatively, and I will not raise your taxes as city councilman.
