BØGER af Henrik S. Holck

HOLCK FAIRYTALESF r o m T h e W o r l d O f A R Tworld premiere 2008

Holck´s Tales are written and told by the danish poet Henrik S. Holck, born 1961 in Copenhagen. The author are consciously tel-ling his adventures in a classical language, like if they were written by Hans Christian Andersen himself, - with all those fine de-tails that belongs to spoken danish with words of double meaning and old ways of expression, full of subtle wisdom, philosophy of life, moral imply - and all those wonderfull other meanings of the word,  that makes our language so rich.

The natural rythm in the way of telling a story stands in total contrast to the fuss and mess, the highpitched tempo of our time. The danish language has in time been given a lot of richness in ways of new words, expressions and concepts from other cultures. But today we are overfloaded by the Age of Informations technical words and great capacity, with colossal amounts of expressions and pictures and informations, that disturbs our mindpeace and the original rythm and skill of making linguistic structure in lan-guage. As a result modern peoples talk, more and more shows idiomatic blunder.

LANGUAGE GOT ITS OWN WAYS  and do not let itself be controlled, but it is a living thing that ought to be nursed all life through. A little daily exercise is needed, to save our joy for both our written and spoken Mother-tongue.

Henrik S. Holck is a modern classic, who got much to say people at present.

Professor in Language Mr. Jørn Lund have read those new Tales and states:

"I´ve enjoyed the fairytales very much, they are written with both a loving  sense and good mind, wisdom and intellect, - and then it does have elements of philosophy and didactic playfullness."

Chairman to The Rhabek Litterary Society, Culture Ambassador Mr. Uffe Andreasen remarked in Berlingske Tidende:

      " From 1700 Ludwig Holberg to 1980 Holck "

The Nordic Tradition of telling sagas, fantastic adventures and stories all springs and flourishes from a long chain of poets end singers together with the people itself, a widely rich tradition of knowledge - the wisdom of the people, the outcasted and the ordinary. The Words and expressions of spirit herefrom blend with Christianity and lay behind with its worths, maybe non-consciously in our spoken words and in our mentality.

Henrik S. Holck says, that - "it is a nessesity to gain inspiration and knowledge from the tradition, so to better the understandment of ourselves as a culture and a people - and as a present human being in this world, we all call ours -, from that existentialistic viewpoint we have to figure out the meaning of our life in a more deep sense, remembering those who Historic have gone before and those that will come. Else we no more understands, who we are."
