"The Call of Cthulhu" — (2005, b&w, 47 minutes) They said H.P. Lovecraft's first Cthulhu Mythos story was unfilmable. But the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society, which produced this faithful adaptation, achieved a brilliant success by filming the story as if it was a silent film made in 1926, the year this horror tale was first published. The style and constraints of silent era films proved a perfect match to the limitations of a story which contains no dialogue. A multiple award-winning film with a full music score, adapting one of the most famous tales from a master of horror.
