We went to Int. Dogshow in Bleiswijk and are really happy with the results:
Chikumbi: 1 Excellent in youthclass, gaining her very first JCAC and a very nice showreport!!
Ijaba joined us for fun and handled by her best friend Jorna she gained the Res. CAC.
Jua and Beaudor also joined us and they got Very Good in youthclass but with wonderful showreports.

World Dogshow 2009
Jorna and I went to Bratislava for the World Dogshow with Ijaba, Chikumbi and Jua. We have had a great time, especially enjoying mum and daughters having fun together!
On friday we had the pleasure to see our friends Jana & Alex and daddy Noldor again! It is always fantastic to see Noldor, he is so much fun, since the first time we saw him I absolutely fell in love. I did try to kidnap him (again) but failed ;-) But we have our own piece of Noldor in our house, Chikumbi is just as energetic and fun as her dad.
The girls didn't get placed but still achieved nice results and very good showreports.

Vizara Likoma Lechaim Dutch & Int. Champion!!!
At the show in Zwolle Ijaba's sister Vizara Likoma Lechaim won CAC/CACIB and with this result she became Dutch and International Champion in one day!
We are very proud of Ijaba's beautiful sister, many congrats to Rens and Mariette.

Luxembourg show
Chikumbi also did a great job in the ring, making her real show debut in a very strong junior class. She just turned 9 months old 5 days ago, so she was the youngest in het class and made it al the way to being placed 3rd Excellent! Mafinga Chibvumba Beaudor and his sister Mafinga Chivindi Jua also made their debut in junior class. They did a great job standing, running, having lots of attention and being very relaxed. But all 3 pups were a bit intimidated with the judge while watching teeth. He was quite rough and not very patient with the unexperienced dogs. So unfortunately he gave Beaudor and Jua no judgement only because he had not seen the teeth long enough.... No matter what we were very proud of them and Jorna and Marja, they did a great job showing them.
All together we went into the mainring for the breedersgroup. Handlers and dogs had a great time, the young dogs were a bit too enthusiastic so no placement but the judge had a smile on her face the whole time ;-)
After a long showday we made a nice walk in the woods so the dogs could release their energy, and man did they play! In the evening we had a nice diner and the next day we ended the weekend with another long walk in the woods before going back home. Ijaba was so excited to play with her pups, they all got along fantastic and were roughhousing like crazy!!!

Photoshoot Ijaba & ChikumbiLast week Jorna took some amazing photo's of our 2 girls. Although we went early in the morning, it was still terribly hot in the dunes so there was a lot of "tongue action" ;-) but nevertheless the result is absolutely stunning. Puppy party !
On june 28th we had a puppy reunion with 5 of our C-litter pups and ofcourse their owners. Ijaba and her kids Jua, Beaudor, Kuki, Chombi and Chikumbi were also joined by Jibwa (Kuki's big "sister"). Unfortunately Denis was not able to come with Changwena, because of a small injury, she is just fine now. It was great to see them all together again and they had a wonderful time, playing with eachother and other dogs in the park. Check out more pics -> here.

Operation Jua
Last week Jua had to undergo an emergency operation to repair an invagination of her bowls. There was no foreign object found so it was just bad luck. Ofcourse we were shocked but the operation was completed without complications and she is now recovering. She is gaining a bit more strenght each day, and her temperature remains normal. To keep her quiet and relaxed for the first week (she is a very energetic bouncy puppy) her "brother" Bhanu is staying with us. Ijaba & Chikumbi are happy with their big friend visiting. We wish Jorna, Rene and kids a lot of strength during these difficult times, we are very proud of you guys for taking such good care of our little princess, you're the best!

Tribute to Vizara Glenara: Vizara's win Breedersgroup at Luxembourg Dogshow 2009!!!
With four of Glenara's champion offspring (from 3 different litters) we entered the Breedersclass in Luxembourg, there was tough competition (16 other groups) but the Vizara's took home the victory! From left to right: Vizara Mbiti (Dutch Ch), Vizara Likoma Lechaim (Lux. Ch), Vizara Jukati (Dutch, Belgian, French, Int. CH) and Vizara Luangwa Ijaba (Dutch, Belgian. Int. Ch). Congratulations to Rens and Mariette!!!
First "showsteps" for baby Mafinga's
Last sunday Chikumbi, Jua & Beaudor participated in their first show in Alkmaar (Babyclass). Our goal was only that they would have a great time, enjoy themselves and get used to the hectic show atmosphere. Well, mission accomplished! They were so relaxed and having fun in and outside the ring, so we are proud of our little ones.
As a bonus our little girl Chikumbi also did a nice job in the ring, she was placed 2nd with a Very Promising and a fantastic report from judge Mrs. de Vries-Hoogland:
Magnificent bitch, beautiful type. Very beautiful feminine head, very alert. Very lovely neck, good strong front. Strong legs and feet. Good topline and tailset. Good ridge, crowns and box. Excellent depth of chest and spring of rib.

Mafinga Chigiya " Shangara"
We went to Marbella Spain for a short holiday. We visited Chigiya a.k.a. Shangara (purple girl) and made some nice walks with her and her RR friend Ramzes. Shangara is doing great, looks fantastic and is still the same happy, enthusiastic and high energy puppy as when she left us! It was special for us to spend some time with her again! On the first day of easter we organized a puppy reunion. All the pups joined us except for Chigiya who lives in Marbella. Both people and dogs really enjoyed themselves, it was so great to see them all together again! Afterwards we had a nice drink at our trainingshal where the dogs could play a bit more and where mom Ijaba educated them in chasing waterbirds...oops ;-) We've had a fantastic day, thanks everybody for coming and taking such good care of "our" puppies! * Vizara Glenara crossed over the rainbowbridge on March 17th. We are very sad about the loss of Ijaba's sweet mother, and our hearts go out to Rens and Mariette for their loss. Thank you Gelby for giving us our special girl, we will never forget you! Rest in peace...* The girls are enjoying springtime! Check out new pics of Ijaba & Chikumbi.

Ijaba Dutch Champion!!!
We are very proud of our girl Ijaba who won CAC, BOB at the show in Leiden today. This makes her Dutch Champion, a very special " come-back" only 3,5 months after having puppies. We are also very proud of our little girls Chikumbi & Jua, who came to support mommy. They were absolutely relaxed and well behaved for the first time in a hectic showhall.

*** 1 dec: The puppies are born! There are 8 pups: 7 bitches and 1 dog. One bitch has multiple crowns, the other pups have correct ridges, no kinked tails or DS so far. Ijaba stayed very relaxed and she and her pups are doing great! First pup was born at 05.18 in the morning and the last pup was born at 11.15. More pictures will follow as soon as possible!

Ijaba had some visitors, her friends Amber & Sem came to see her big belly. Ijaba is even more affectionate and cuddly then normal, so she was happy with the extra attention. We can also feel the puppies moving now, very special!

*** 31st: We received Ijaba's Belgian title, and made a special page with her titels on it. Click here
*** 23rd: Ijaba is PREGNANT!!!!!!!!
Today we made an ultrasound and we saw at least 7 embryo's clearly on the monitor. They are still very small and it is difficult to know for sure how many puppies will be born so we have to be patient and just wait and see ;-) The pups are expected around 2 december.
*** 21st: We are watching Ijaba's every move to figure out if she is pregnant.... We have a good feeling, her behaviour is different, she is really lazy, sleeps a lot, doesn't really enjoy going for walks (after 20 minutes she is tired and drags along after me ) eats like crazy and her bellysize is grown from 56,5 cm to 59,5 cm...... but we made an appointment for the ultrasound this thursday (the 23rd), so then we will know for sure! Very exciting last days...pffff......

*** Ijaba and Noldor mated on 30/9 and 1/10. The matings went very well and will hopefully result in a litter of sweet and healthy little puppies! We will keep our fingers crossed!

*** 26th: We arrived in Tallinn, Estonia! Our initial plan was to go with the airplane, but at the last moment it was impossible because KLM had no room in the planes and where unable to help us in time..... So then we just got in the car and drove to Stockholm (15h) and then took the boat to Tallinn (17h). The boattrip was quite good because we left at Stockholm at 6 p.m. and we arrived in Tallinn the next morning. We had a nice cabin and Ijaba was allowed on the boat, restaurant and cabin. We went to bed early and had a good night sleep! Now Ijaba is settled in perfectly in our appartement and we will try mating in a couple of days.
*** 18th: Ijaba started her season today! So exciting times ahead! Monday we will go to the vet for progesterone test and then we will go from there to see when we have to leave for Estonia!
*** So we are back in town! Had a nice time at the RR World Congress, we have met a lot of nice people and had a wonderful time. After that Martine & Willemijn went to the Danisch clubshow with Ijaba & Jukati. We have had a great time and especially the last day, when the dogs went Lure Coursing (pics will follow). Ijaba should come into season any moment now and then we have to plan our visit to Noldor in Estonia. Very exciting times!

inside panting like crazy to cool down a bit..... only to return to her
sunny outdoor spot within a couple of minutes.....You wouldn't say they're from Africa right ;-) Check out some nice new pics here!*** Sunday the 10th of august we will leave for Ireland for 2 weeks. We are going to attend the Rhodesian Ridgeback World Congress! After that we will explore Ireland for a couple of days, and hopefully make some nice walks with Ijaba.
*** Update on the scent tracking: We have had 4 lessons now and Ijaba seems to get the hang of it! We are tracking on human scent which is not easy. We train in the dunes and the dogs have to follow a man-made trail, winding through the small dune paths. She really likes doing it and it is fun to see her work, because she does it exactly the way she is, steady but very accurate!!!

** 13th: Ijaba's birthday today! Many kisses also for all the brothers and sisters of the Vizara L-litter.
We had a nice birthday party today because Ijaba and Bhanu went to their first (scent) tracking lesson. They did a very good job and really enjoyed themselves. So amazing to see their natural instinct and ability kicking in! We are going to continue with this on a weekly basis.

** At the show in Goes Ijaba also entered the Junior Handling competition with her "big" friend Sem. We are very proud of this super team! Ijaba was totally focused on Sem the whole time and Sem did such a great job in the ring. He really is a natural! Note: Sem is only 7 years old (officiallly minimum age is 11!) and was the only boy! Well done! Keep watching the showrings because this super team will be back ;-)

*** 25th: We went to the Amsterdam Winner show. There where a lot of Vizara dogs entered and they all did a great job since they where all placed! Open class: Likoma 1 Exc., Ijaba 2 Exc. and Likozi 4 Exc. Champion class: Jukati 4 Exc. Open class: Hunyani 2 Exc. Junior class: Mbiti 2 Exc. and Maluwa 3 Exc.
We also participated in the Breedersgroup in the main ring. Unfortunately the judge preferred fluffy dogs so we went straight out again ;-) It didn't really matter because we (the proud owners & dogs) had a lot of fun!!! Check out this stunning family portrait:

*** 19th: A day with very mixed feelings.....
Ijaba wins CAC/CACIB, BOB & BOG2 at the show in Mechelen (B)! And big brother Vizara Jukati also took home the CAC/CACIB! Finally we did it.... we could stand next to each other in the ring at the end ;-)))
Unfortunately today we also had to say goodbye to our Dinja, who passed away at the age of 15,5. Dinja was the dog I (martine) grew up with and was always there to comfort me when I was sad. She lived a great, long, happy life but still she will be truly missed....
You will be in our hearts forever!

*** Ijaba gained the title Youth Winster 2006 at the Winner show in Amsterdam. 
With this result she also obtained a crufts qualification. Needless to say that we are very very proud of our little girl!!!

*** Vizara Jodi Jinga won the bronze medal at the World Dog Show in Poznan Poland, out of 35 Champion bitches!!! Many congrats to Anne and Geert and their beautifull girl!

At the show in Zwolle Ijaba did a great job, she became 1 excellent in the youthclass out of 25 dogs! She was also Best Youthdog and gained a Res. CAC. The judge was Richard van Aken, a breedspecialist from S- Africa. Check out the photoalbum for some pic's.

*** 27th of august: The very sad news reached us that Vizara Dazi Yardena, Ijaba's beautifull grandmother, passed away. She reached the age of 10 years. Our hearts go out to Rens and Mariette for their loss.

*** Vizara Jodi Jinga (Ijaba's half-sister) became Belgium Champion!!!! Many congrats to Anne en Geert en ofcourse to beautifull Jinga!
- 1st of April: Ijaba went to her third show in Leiden. She did very well, and she got a great result! We are very proud of her!!! It was quite a family affair. Her brother Vizara Lundazi (2nd Youthclass) and sisters Vizara Likoma Lechaim and Vizara Likozi Karamu were there aswell. Ijaba was especially happy to see her favorite brother Vizara Jukati again. He also did a great job in the ring! It was very nice to see them all together again and the owners also had a great time ;-))) See the showpage for Ijaba's result!
- March 19th: We went to the show in Goes, it was the first time in Youth class and Ijaba did a great job. See showpage for the result.
