MOVING IMAGE

SUPPLIES NEEDED
Tube of your Choice
I'm using the gorgeous work of Keith Garvey which is available for tag use via MPT
Filters you'll need for this tutorial
Mura Meister's Copies
Tramages Tow the Line
(both filters are freeware - google them to find them if you don't already have them installed)
You'll also need to Animation Shop for the animation part and
some experience of the animation process
so this tutorial is not recommended for PSP beginners
_________________________________
Start with a new Image 350 width x 200 height (yup, small!)
Floodfill White
Then open the tube you've chosen to use
Take two contrasting colours from the tube - I chose a dark and lighter blue
Have the darker colour in the Foreground box of the Materials palette
Now go to Gradient in your Materials Palette and apply the following settings

Then add a new Layer to your image canvas
and floodfill with the gradient
Duplicate the layer
Image
Mirror
and then set the Blend Mode of the upper gradient layer to Overlay
then
Merge Visible
(You want both of the angles of the gradient to show so it may
depend entirely on the colours you use as to which Blend Mode you use - perhaps Soft Light
or Hard Light or Burn - play around with the settings until you get one you like - then Merge Visible)
Then
Apply Tramages Tow the Line on the default settings
should be like these

then
Image
Rotate Right (not Free Rotate - we actually want the whole canvas to move)
and apply the Tramages Tow the Line again
Image, Rotate Left to get it back to how it was
and
then copy and paste your tube onto the tag canvas
Place to the left of the tag centre
then
Duplicate
Image
Mirror
Layers
Merge Down so both tube layers are on the same layer
Apply a favourite largish dropshadow of choice
Then
Crop the canvas to take the excess tube away
(Use your Crop tool andon the right hand side of the tool palette
and see Snap Crop Rectangle to: and choose Merged Opaque and click tick)
Layers
Merge Visible
and then
Image
Add Borders
and choose a 3 pixel symmetric border in your lighter colour
then
a 5 pixel border in your darker colour
then
Layers
Promote Background Layer
and
Image
Canvas Size
and choose 550 x 400

Add a new Layer at the bottom
Now we're going to repeat the above steps in regards to the gradient
so
Floodfill the canvas and repeat the gradient floodfill, duplicate, mirror, blend and merge visible
(Important - Hide the original layer you made BEFORE you merge visible)
OK
So you've now got the same gradient background as before
and apply the Tramages Tow the Line - only the first step, not the rotate bit
Duplicate the original smaller tubed layer four times - and hide the 5th original top layer for now
and on the bottom copy
apply Mura Meister Copies on these settings (NOTE: Make sure you untick the Fade Out box - my
graphic shows it ticked, so untick it)

on the next layer up apply Mura's again but this
time all you're doing is changing the Shift X slider from 100 to 70
Note: You may need to Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen the individual layers
once the Mura's have been applied
Use your eye to see if there's a lot of blurry smudge on the tube on the layer - if so, sharpen
but watch out for the criss cross effect - make sure it's not too vivid, best slightly smudged than
over sharpened!
ok so
Next layer up - change the X Shift slider from 70 to 40
and finally on the fourth layer up - change from 40 to 10
Now unhide the original small tubed layer and apply a good dropshadow to it
Add a new Layer to the top of the Layers Palette
and
Selections, Select All
then
Selections
Modify, Contract by 15
then
Selections, Invert
and now floodfill with Black
Selections All again
and Selections, Modify Contract by 10
Selections Invert and this time, floodfill with the lighter colour
Keep Selected
Selections All
and contract once more by 2
Add a new Layer above the others and floodfill with Black
Selections None
Now copy and paste your original tube as a new layer
Place over to the left of the tag, in the gap left by the Mura's
Apply a drop shadow and then move the tube below the two frame layers we've just made
Now open the wordart I've provided or Make your own based
on the feel and theme of your chosen tube - make sure the wordart is on one layer
Paste as a New Layer
Place below the main tube as mine
Duplicate
Image
Flip
and move this flipped wordart BELOW the Mura's layers
Now add your copyright info and place on the frame - fits lovely :)
and then add your name in a font of choice
You may like to add a Gradient Glow to the name - up to you :)
Now here's the part for animating
Hide the Mura layers except the first (bottom) one
Edit, Copy Merged and take to Ani Shop
Paste as New Animation
Back to PSP
Hide the bottom Mura's and unhide the next one up
Edit, Copy Merged
back to Ani Shop and Paste AFTER current frame
Back to PSP and repeat the above for the next two layers of Mura's
OK - so in Ani Shop we've got 4 frames
NOW
Back to PSP
Hide all the Mura's layers except the top Mura's layer
Make it active and Image, Mirror
now Edit, Copy Merged
Back to Ani Shop
Paste After Current Frame (which should be the last frame - Frame 4)
Back to PSP and hit the Undo arrow to get it back to how it was
Now, hide the top Mura's layer
and go to the next one down the palette
Repeat as above not forgetting to hit Undo each time you go back to PSP
So do this for all 4 Mura's layers in PSP and then
Hopefully in Ani Shop you now have 8 frames of Animation
Click on the first frame
Edit, Select All
And have the Frame Properties on 33
View, Animation
and Save as .GIF (it's quite a large file size, but nothing too hefty)
That's it - all done :)
Hope you enjoy your new tag - think I'll be doing a few more
animated tags like this so hope you had fun with this tut :)
