DREAMS OR NIGHTMARES

I made this tag for a weekly challenge in one of the Groups I'm in ('ello Misfits lol!! xx)
Well, a couple of people said I should tut here - so here it is...
SUPPLIES NEEDED
Tube plus Large tube close up of your Choice - I'm using a fantastic one by so talented it
must hurt hehe Ismael Rac
It's part of the Zodiac tube pack @ AMI
But of course, feel free to use a tube/image/close up of your own choosing
Note: Make sure you're allowed to monotone the tube/tag if using PTU artwork
AND the
reason I've got coloured lips on the ones I'm using is that Ismael Rac has very generous TOU's with his tubes.
"Monotone or colorizing sections of a tube is acceptable"
Bless you Ismael!!
Template 265 - by the lovely Missy which you can
download from her blog HERE (Thanks hunny xx)
Xero Graphics Greyscaler (optional)
Grungy Brushes of your Choice
Mask of your Choice (optional)
I used my own mask Vix_Mask147 in my 2nd example
which is one of my older masks but still proving v.popular with my fellow taggers xx
And you'll need to know how to change the Blend Mode in your Layer Palette and
have reasonable confidence in your erasing skills too xx
_______________________________
Firstly - open the Template 265 which you've downloaded from Missy's blog
Shift + D to duplicate it and close the Original
Now then, on this, we want to make the canvas size bigger for working on
Image, Canvas Size
and change it to 650 wide by 600 high with a central placement
Once you've done this, go to Background - and floodfill again with White
So then, first things first
On Glittered Circle layer - Selections All, Selections Float, Selections Defloat
then go to the
Pink Circle Layer and Hit Delete on that one
You'll see in the little preview window in the Layers Palette, that this is now a Circle Frame :)
Selections None
OK
So on - the Pink Circle Frame
Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colourize and change both sliders to 0
then
Adjust, Brightness and Contrast and change the Brightness to (minus) 255
and the Contrast to 0
So we now have a Black Circle Frame
OK
Duplicate this Black Circle Frame and move one of the Circle Layers right up to the top
of the Layer Palette
and Hide this top one for now. We won't need it 'til later
Right then, leave that for the moment, let's prepare the rest of the tag...
Thin Rectangle - Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colourize as before (this is the thin rectangle on the left)
Same for Thin Rectangle 2
Same for both the Dotted Lines Layers
OK, looking good :)
Now, back to the Black Rectangle Layer
and Selections All, Selections Float, Selections Defloat and KEEP Selected for quite a bit :)
Open your main face tube/close up, copy and paste as a New layer over to the right of the rectangle as liked
and then, Selections, Invert and Hit Delete (Keep Selected)
Duplicate the tube layer - hide the top one for now
and on the lower one, change the Hue/Saturation as before so it's now monotone.
Tip: OR use Xero Graphics Greyscaler - a nice little filter effect :)
Now, change the Blend Mode of your Close up Tube layer in the Layer Palette to Burn
The tube has vanished!!
Ah yes, but it's about to magically re-appear lol!
then Add a New Raster Layer just below the tube layer - v.important, must be on a new layer of it's own
So, taking our AIR Brush tool (not Paintbrush)
change the Materials Foreground Colour box to White
and have your Airbrush on these settings...

Now, going steadily, apply the Airbrush to the new Raster layer
Hold down left click for quicker application or just dab at it patiently hehe
But, you'll eventually see it apply and
voila! There's the tube coming through
so do it gradually (undo a couple of times if you overdo it and start again)
You want a nice blob of white shading over to the right of the rectangle
so the tube large close up shows through as spookily or as dreamily as you'd like!
Once your happy with your application - SELECTION NONE
Now then, unhide your top copy of the close up
which is not monotone
And now? Basically, erase all the face except the lips :D
I used my normal Brush tool on these settings...

and just went in from the outside, erasing as I went , zooming in to see better and resizing the brush as needed when
I got to face and delicate bits around the lips until
I got just the lips left and then changed the Blend Mode of the top tube copy - what was left of it - to Burn as before :)
But...
If you can't do this or would rather not, then leave as it is and delete this top tube copy
as it's not needed unless you're doing this bit.
Right then, now take the main tube (the full body version)
And copy and Paste as a New Layer
Position it to compliment all your hard work on the back :)
then
Move to just below the top Circle layer
Once placed, Monotone it as before using either Xero Greyscaler or PSP's own Adjust, Hue and Saturation, Colourize
and Apply a favourite dropshadow for tubes - I used 1, 1, 50, 11 Black
Now, those familiar with my tutorials that include a tube coming "out" of something may be
thinking, eh?! What are you doing ya madwoman...
But you'll remember we have 2 Black Circles - sooooo
un-hide the top Circle Layer
Now, use Magic Wand Delete by clicking inside the Circle
Selections, Modify, Expand by 4
Selections, Invert
and then Back to the tube Layer
and don't just hit Delete this time.
Instead, take your eraser on a hard setting
and get rid of any of the tube you don't want sticking out at the bottom
Once you've done this - Selections None
Then, take your eraser again on the top Circle layer
and erase any of that you don't need :) Take care not to erase
near the cut off point of your tube
Now back to the bottom Circle Layer
and apply a Dropshadow of choice to this one
Now on the Glittered Circle
Add the same shadow used for the Circle layer
and also add to
the other small thin rectangles - or use a subtle shadow of your choice
It's up to you...
Nearly done :)
OK
Add a New layer above the White Background
and apply either a favourite mask to a Black/White Gradient floodfilled background
(I did this for my second example, I've used my Mask 147 - which is I think by far and away the
most downloaded and most popular of all my masks, so thanks for enjoying it peeps xx)
or
use some Grungy brushes of choice
And then finally - add some wording
I used "See you in your NIGHTMARES" for the 1st example
and
"See you in your DREAMS" for the 2nd one
Colourpick the colour of the lips and use this for the main word colour
There's tons of fab fonts about, so have a play and find the ones you like to
go with your tag theme
And then
Add your name as liked
and
finally, your Artist info/copyright info
Then
Crop to size required for your tag and save as a Transparent backed PNG (so delete the white background)
Ta-daaaaa - all done and I hope you like xx
