Lambsons Chemicals,
Building
fire, 2nd Alarm (make pumps 6), plus special appliances, officers and 2 aerial appliances.
Warehouse building containing a large quantity of wood measuring 70M x 20M. Building had a
corrugated sheet asbestos roof which was involved in the fire. Local
residents were asked by police to remain inside and keep doors and windows
closed. Emergency Planning, Environment Agency and Environmental Health
were all informed of the incident. Incident reduced to 4 appliances at

Leak of Phosphoric Acid from container on back of lorry in works yard. Fire crews in chemical protection suits contained the spillage by setting up a containment dam. Specalist chemical cleaning company were then brought in to deal with the clearup of the chemical.
3 workers , including the driver of the lorry, were taken to hospital for precautionary checkup.
