Whether you are a bicyclist, walker, equestrian, nature lover, or history buff, the 225 miles of the Katy Trail State Park offer opportunities for recreation, a place to enjoy nature, and an avenue to discover the past.

Museums and Historical Sites


 An architectual treasure built strategically into a
 bluff over a period of 30 years.  Tours provide a
 glimpse into the life of Sedalia's greatest
 benefactor and the time in which he lived.

Pettis County Museum

 Founded by the Pettis County Historical Society to
 preserve the rich and vast history of Pettis County,
 the Museum opened to the public in 2006 as a place
 to display historic items.  Programs and fund-raisers
 are held throughout the year.

Pettis County Courthouse

 Built in 1924, the Courthouse proudly displays the
 Circuit Courthouse Murals by St. Louis muralist and
 restorationist, Barbara Manes Campbell, depicting
 Pettis County's history. The subject matter of each
 panel is arranged chronically and reads from top to
 bottom, left to right.

 Sedalia Public Library
 The first library to receive an Andrew Carnegie
 Grant in the state of Missouri, the structure was
 dedicated in 1901. Boasting marble floors, open
 fireplaces, white oak woodwork, it is made of terra
 cotta and Carthage stone.

Liberty Center Association
for the Arts

 A renovated 1920s theatre in downtown Sedalia,
 serves as the center for performing and cultural arts
 and visual art exhibits in their gallery 111. The
 Sedalia Community Theatre's all volunteer troupe
 stages three productions annually which showcases
 local talent.

Fine Arts

 The Stauffacher Center for Fine Arts on the
 State Fair Community College campus features
 an artist and lecturer series in the Goddard Gallery
 and several theater and musical productions throughout
 the year in the Stauffacher Theater.

Fun for Sports Enthusiasts

Bombers Baseball The MINK League is composed of teams from Missouri,
 Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.  It is a summer Collegiate
 Baseball league operating 10 teams throughout the Midwest. 
 The League provides a venue for college players who wish
 to develop their skills to enter the Major League Baseball
 Amateur Draft.

State Fair Speedway Racing enthusiasts can enjoy weekly
 racing on the half-mile dirt track at
 State Fair Speedway on the Missouri
 State Fairgrounds starting in April. 
 The series will feature 360 Sprint cars,
 late-models, and a-modifieds.
 LA Raceway LA Raceway is a 3/8 mile clay oval located 12 miles west of
 Sedalia on Highway 7 featuring Sprints, Street Stocks,

 Centennial Park

 Centennial Park, located at 16th Street and New York, is the second
 largest of Sedalia's parks with 39 acres. The main function of this park
 is an outdoor sports complex.

Clover Dell Park

 Clover Dell is located on West 32nd Street, 8/10 of a mile from the
