Well, needless to say it didn't take long for me to find a car hauler to fetch this jewel in the rough as the most pressing issue at the time was "how do I get this basket case home?" I loaded the main frame onto the hauler and started stacking the rest of it where ever it would fit.
After the long ride home I could hardly wait to get started. Once home I started to assemble the pieces with 1/4-20 bolts and tie wire so as to get an Idea as to what the thing really looked like in a more complete form. Next I started shopping around for more parts to make it more complete.
After determining that to try and make this an original restoration would cost a fortune, and parts were scarce, I decided to install late model running gear. I was lucky to find a parts car that would suit my needs within a few miles of my house for $500. It was a 78' Ford Granada with a 302 V8 and bucket seats and a 3 speed floor shift, pretty rare I thought for a Granada. I was able to drive it home and see how well it ran. The brakes were a little soft but it ran like a champ, no smoke and drove great. Probably should have kept it in one piece but as soon as I got it home I commenced to disassemble it and save every piece that would fit the old truck as if it were gold.
