Welcome to Vineyard German Shepherds.

 
  We are a small family based kennel located on 5 acres in British Columbia, Canada.  I have been involved in German Shepherds for about 10 years.  I began handling German Shepherds in 1998, and have had the opportunity to handle for some of the top breeders in Canada. I have handled dogs to multiple class wins and placements at the national, specialty and all breed levels.  I have handled dogs to best puppy wins, group wins (puppy and adult),  placements, several Futurity/Maturity winners and finished several champions.



  After showing for several years and researching pedigrees, I have started my own breeding program.  I believe a German Shepherd should be both physically and mentally stable.  A dog that is capable of doing whatever is asked of it while still maintaining a gentle, family oriented personality. 

    My goal is to produce dogs which are not only competitive at the all-breed, specialty, and national level, but also healthy dogs with great temperaments suitable for companion and performance homes. Although conformation is my main focus, I've tried herding, agility, and temperament testing with my dogs. Our dogs are house dogs and are considered a big part of our family.

  After watching a show on search and rescue dogs, someone once asked me why my dogs don't do that. I said, "because I don't do that". It was at that point, I realized the German Shepherd is limited only by how far you are willing to go.  And although I focus on "Show Dogs" I always keep in mind the working ability of the dogs, and several of my dogs have proven capable in other areas of performance.
