FOR SALE: One purebred Paint Nubian doeling DOB 5/30/09

Doeling out of Travis and Tupelo~ She is correct with awesome conformation. A very thick and level gal. This doe has refused grain and will eat browse and hay only. She is 76lbs!!! A promising choice for 2010 shows as well as adding some of the "old style Nubian" solidity and depth to your herd.

Sept282009doelings054.jpg picture by citysplitter Doeling that is for sale is in foreground and has solid brown ears. That is her twin sister in the background with frosted ears. Both have really nice briskets. Age 4 mths.

 Just a note:

Here at Vine Hill we rarely intervene with nature's way of life. And despite the fact that they basically feed theirselves, we do keep the hay racks full. I just wanted to point out that these girls are not 'beefed up' on grain or hormones. They are 'easy keepers' just like their mom!

We also do vaccinate with CD&T and BoSe and deworm on a regular schedule. We practice FAMACHA. A preventative Pneumonia vaccine is also given to all goats in the fall. We check hooves on a regular basis and trim when necessary. All goats have unlimited access (free choice) to loose copper minerals and baking soda.

Other than supplementing once each day with small amounts of 16 % of unmedicated pelleted grain to milkers, pregnant or lactating does and kids, we do not intervene. We have no 'frail' goats here! LOL When feeding and milking and during visits to check on them throughout the day, we hold, pet and talk to our goats so they are all very friendly and loving, even our buck and wether. However, ALL goats get grain during the winter months when there is little or no browse.

We do not take our goats off of this farm for ANY reason and have a closed herd. All goats are blood drawn by our vet who then sends the samples off for testing and all of our goats have documented results negative CAE/CL. We do NOT vaccinate against CL or any other disease other than pneumonia, entertero, tetanus and selenium deficiency~ all preventative vaccines. IF a newborn or adult should rarely become ill, we will first attempt to treat with natural alternatives and then treat with antibiotics if necessary.

ALL Goats are purebred and registered with ADGA OR will come with papers!

Includes UTD shots, dewormings, banded for wethers and all kids are disbudded.

This is (Tupelo) their dam. Photo taken 6/1/09. This is her 2nd freshening.. Nice attachment and foreudder; she has plenty of milk! Easy milker!

Greenfire Pearl of Promise is the above twin buckling's dam and is looking mighty good considering she suffered a hip injury last fall which still gives her some trouble and just delivered twins only a few hours before I took this picture!. She is a tuff gal though and carried her twins full term. Pearl is solidly built, more 'old style' Nubian which will lend thickness to her bucklings as they mature.

ABOVE: The buck's coloring is very unique. The camera just does not do him justice. I have tried to capture his awesome coat but he just looks mish mash patchy..lol..You should come see him in person!. He is a lt. brown but has large diluted areas of grey. He has white also as you can see and black markings that outline his face and a black tail. He has a black dorsal and some black and white on his legs. You could not ask for a more pleasant stud. Tupie is our quietest doe here. Travis, his sire, is also VERY laid back and passive. "Baby" is just like his parents. He will come right to you and loves being scratched and talked to. A very sweet little guy that is ready to breed. He is correct and level as a board and solid! His mom is a second freshner having had easy pregnancies and births all on her own, wonderfully attentive, with plenty of milk, healthy mom.   SOLD

I can personally attest to Judy Faller's Endless Prairie Nubians website~ www.endlessprairienubians.com devotion to a wonderful line of goats and thank her for letting us have Travis here at Vine Hill. He likes to be with people and will follow me around if I let him! He is lovable and compliant with hoof trimming as well as other hands on needs. Telestar Reflection

"Our oldest doe 8 year old SG Telstar Farms Reflection *M earned a 90 VEEE this year!  Way to go!  Reflection is such a strong beauty!  She also is a Crown Excess Granddaughter.  Our SG Hylands Galiano has blossomed like we never thought she could!  After being fresh ONLY 13 hours she appraised at an 89 +EEE!!!   The + was for general appearance which is only natural after kidding!  Then she was awarded the Superior Genetics award as well and we are so very thrilled.  We are so thankful to Gene Beck of Hylands for breeding Galiano and letting us have not only Galiano but her doe, SG Hyland's Galadriel as well!  Galiano is 7*M Saada Lemon Tart's daughter.  Tart has since left all of us, but she definitely carries on through Galiano and our Medallion."

 Hyland's Medallion:

GREENFIRE PEARL OF PROMISE    DOB  4/15/07

Beautiful coloring Pearl's 'white' coat gets a tinge of very light brown on the ends. She is very solid, more the 'old style' Nubian in that she is heavier boned, sturdy and thicker than Julie and Brook. Pearl is also very hardy. She can be bossy and a little pushy so I call her my 'tomboy' :^)

Sept. 10, 2008 An excerpt from OhioGoats@yahoogroups.com   Digest # 2724

(Vine Hill was regretfully unable to attend this LA session held at Bryson Branch farm last August, but we hope to participate in the next LA approval offered. I have copied and pasted the results of Bryson Branch and Greenfire Farm's LA appraisals as our does here at Vine Hill were purchased from these two fine purebred Nubian farms :^)  I have highlighted the relatives of our does below matching our does here at Vine Hill.

Both families are commended for their daily committment to raising healthy high performance Nubians!!

I also want to express a much-belated thanks to the McPherson family
for hosting a Linear Appraisal event for us in Southeast Ohio. It was
our second time, the first being two years ago, and again we found it
to be so informative and interesting.

We're proud of our little herd; they did very well.

Greenfire HP Phoenix Rising, 6 yo 5th freshener, V+VV 87 (this is Tupelo's DDD)
Greenfire LMS P Burning Beauty, 5 yo 4th freshener, VVV+ 85
Greenfire LMS Luna's Ariel, 3 yo 2nd freshener, VVE+ 84  (this is Pearl's dam)
Greenfire Ariel's Dulce, 1 you 1st freshener, +VVV 84

And the kids (all born in March):

Twigga V(V++)
Celeste V(VV+)
Janie V(VV+)
Cedar V(+VV)
Tansy +(+VV)

Can't wait to see how these kids develop. Thanks, again, for a great
experience and a beautiful day.

Like many of you, we keep a very small herd of purebred Nubians.
Our first appraisal session was in 2006 and we were very pleased with
the progress we have made since then. I agree so much with Patricia
Bailey that the ADGA Linear Appraisal program is of great value
and we feel the most single valuable program that we use to assess our
herd. We base all of our purchases including semen on LA scores,
then production records and lastly show records.

a 9 1/2 lb buckling and Julie gave birth to twin doelings. Both girls kidded without problems.

They were still being milked when we brought them here and consistantly supplied us with a generous amount

of milk until we dried them off and bred them both to Xtravaganza. Both of these does are the 'newer' type Nubian

and have that 'very dairy' look!

Below is what Mary had on her website about the does and I thank her for letting me use it here as well!

Bryson Branch Joyful Julianne and Bryson Branch Bubblin Brooke are two Bryson’s Hero daughters that we are very excited about. Both have long bone patterns and are very dairy does, stand on strong feet and legs and have the signature Bryson’s Hero daughter trait of a high and wide escutcheons. Being triplet sisters out of our original foundation doe, Nettie Rose, we are anxious to kid them out in 2008.

The triplet brother, Famous Amos, is being retained for future use. Amos has the same long, tall bone pattern of his sisters, stands on good feet in legs, is high in the withers and very open throughout. His added plus is his beautiful black and dapple gray coloring.

The girls were two of triplets. The 3rd is their brother Famous Amos. He is pictured below- (so there are 'colors, spots & dapple genes' in these goats!!!)

We are anticipating a great "dairy" herd with a heavier structure than most by crossing the old style and new style Nubians.

We use herbal preventative medicine and try to avoid unnecessary antibiotics. We never use hormones. We do not use fertilizers here on our farm. We are an "all natural farm."

Our goats MAIN nutrition is attained by browsing. They receive supplemental grain when needed (wintertime, pregnant or lactating) and unlimited weedy hay mixed with Alfalfa. The girls all get Alfalfa cubes soaked in water to a 'spinach' consistancy daily too.

Our goats have unlimited fresh water, loose copper minerals and soda. They also receive preventative vaccines> CD&T, Bose, Pneumonia and supplemental Probiotics, Vitamins when needed. They are dewormed on a reg basis.

By keeping goats in their most 'natural' surroundings, they build immunity and a better resistance against illness.
