Jacksonian Democracy
The Jacksonian Democracy was an ambiguous, controversial concept, Jacksonian Democracy refers simply to the ascendancy of Andrew Jackson and the Democratic party after 1828. From another angle from other people, the Jacksonian Democracy appeared as a political impulse that tied to slavery, the subjugation of Native Americans, and the celebration of white supremacy and even scholars called the "Jacksonian Democracy" a contridiction. The Jacksonian Democracy was an authentic democratic movement that was mainly for only white peoples. The origins went back all the way to the democratic stirrings of the American Revolution, the Antifederalists of the 1780s and 1790s, and the Jeffersonian Democratic Republicans. Andrew Jackson was the first president to fully utilize the powers of the executive branch and establish it as an equal branch. Henry Clay viewed Jackson as dictator and unconstitutional and persuaded the Congress to censure him in 1834, but Jacksonian propaganda continued to portray Jackson as a common man.
