This 2 year old colt was rescued from a lady who is obviously a hoarder. There were 8 horses total. This boy is very thin, not a blade of grass in the small muddy area he and another colt about the same age were being kept. The only water they had was rainwater and it was contaminated with chunks of rust and mosquito larvae. The other colt will be lucky to survive. The other colt is ALOT more thin, very weak, could hardly walk. We called the Sheriff's Dept who is supposed to be calling animal control, hopefully they can save those poor horses. This is May 19, we brought the colt to our place. I will post new pictures to show his progress.

May 20th, local authorities say their hand are tied, nothing they can do. What a shame, just let those horses suffer and die. I will be posting pictures of the other horses and how they are being forced to live. We were told that one mare already died, she hurt her back leg after foaling, she drug herself around for 2 days before finally giving up and dieing.
UPDATE 05/20/08: Baton Rouge is now getting involved, slow process and the one colt does not have much time. Labored breathing, can hardly stand, huge belly, weak, cuts from barbed wire. Pee is green! No poop in area, which makes me think they are eating their own feces!
