Today, I stand before my Higher Power (God) in my ninth year of sobriety and give Him all the glory and thanks. I took the first step by deciding to seek treatment. He took the second by giving me hope and guidance. By the time I got to the third and on my way to recovery, I knew that He had been there for me all along.
I express my sincere thanks to the memory of my dear friend Shelby Jean. She was taken from me three years ago, but not before she'd done her wondrous work of helping me regain my sobriety. Thank you so very much Shelby.
I also thank everyone else who touched my life during my road to recovery. Your help and encouragement saw me through a dark period in my life and plucked me from the depths of my spiral into hell.
