A long time ago, a very wise person said, "It takes a village to raise a child." What wisdom is in those words!!! The homeschooling movement is continually growing as families are recognizing their rights to educate their children themselves as well as their obligation to their children to ensure that each child is receiving a quality education. Homeschooling communities are created to share support, encouragement and experience in order to make the homeschooling journey a blessed trek from childhood to adulthood. With such a large community of homeschoolers in the Vicksburg, Mississippi area, it would only make sense to strive to create a unified supportive community of similarly minded home educators... which is the goal of this site and the addends to it. If you are a homeschooling family from Vicksburg or the surrounding communities... then join in, put on your hiking boots and enjoy the trek.

Pull up a chair, grab a glass of tea or coffee and join in the discussions. This is a site strictly for ArkLaMiss Homeschoolers to be able to talk about the daily joys and obstacles of homeschooling, planning and coordinating events, topics directly related to certain age groups such as PreK/Kindergarten, Elementary, or HighSchool, Curriculum discussions, a bartering board, and lots more. This is a member only chat board in order to protect the privacy of its members, so you must create a name and password to login.
Happy Chatting!!!!!
We are advancing with our technology and now have an E-Loop. This is an easy way to spread the word about events, playdates, field trips, creating a simpler way to coordinate functions, and just plain simple way to "be in the know."

</a>Also, FYI if you are not familiar with yahoo groups, there is an option to receive posts as individual emails or as a daily digest. Depending on how often you check your email may help you decide which option. The individual emails will send you an email each time someone posts on the Loop. The Daily Digest mode will combine the emails for the day (up to 25) in one email, it will have a numbered index for you to scan to be able to see which emails pertain to your interests and activities and then go to them rather than reading them all (For example, if your child is in 11th grade then you most likely wouldn't be interested in the coordinating efforts of planning a playdate at the park. Or if your child is 5 then the emails coordinating the Spelling Bee would most likely not be of interest to you. Still, the emails reminding everyone of a monthly skating outing or Mom's Night Out would be of interest to most everyone.) Don't be overwhelmed by so much information, join the group and communication amongst the group will be as easy as the click of your mouse.
