Tearloch was born 5-7-05, we've done prelims on his hips, elbows & knees and they all look really good, thyroid profile was normal, complete blood chemistry profile-normal, eyes-normal, hearing-normal, Heartworm test-negative, Brucellosis-Negative, Negative for internal or external parasites. Tearloch's stud fee has been temporarily reduced until we know if he's going to be sound enough after his knee injury to compete in the show ring again $900.00 , a $500.00 deposit is required before breeding, $200.00 is due when a positive pregnancy test is determined (I recommend doing a Relaxin test at day 30 into gestation) If I do the breeding I will keep extremely accurate records of dates, if you do the breeding I highly recommend keeping accurate records of her dates starting with first signs of estrus, first progesterone test done, first date of breeding or AI and last date of breeding or AI so you can get a good accurate whelp date, I also highly recommend getting a radiograph done one week before her whelp date, this is essential to tell you not only a very accurate count of puppies but puppy size & positioning, this is so very important because you need to know when that last pup is born that it is in fact the last pup remaining, you don't want to wait until after the dam whelps not only would you expose her needlessly to a veterinary hospital and taking her away from her pups when that first colostrum is so very important to their immune systems, of course it's necessary in cases of dystocia and needed c-section but otherwise get the rads done one week before her whelp date, the information you will gain is invaluable & the radiation is no more than her laying in front of a colored TV set! The remaining $200.00 is due when the litter is born, if there are no pups born, or the bitch did not get pregnant than we will breed her next cycle at no charge (except for any veterinary, or shipping/handling charges that may apply). I guarantee semen live & viable on delivery to your vet who can check it for viability immediately before inseminating your bitch, and have a written stud contract.

We are also able to send chilled semen if distance is a factor, there is no additional collection fee for sending chilled semen just for the shipping/handling & supplies necessary to ship the semen to your vet.

If you are within driving distance & want to board your bitch with us during her ovulation period (I would recommend coming prior to that so there's no chance of missing it!) we can do progesterone tests to pin point her ovulation.

The cost of boarding per day (which includes feeding (your food, schedule & supplements), grooming, exercise/conditioning (we have a treadmill for bad weather days) and a huge fenced in yard for good weather days, our dogs are all house dogs but we have Bedrooms for the dogs if your girl would feel more comfortable with more space or we have plenty of X-Lg. crates if she's feel more comfortable in a crate (as many dogs do), our dogs get the best of care as would your's if she stayed with us, and since my husband is a licensed veterinarian there is a "doctor in the house" all the time! The cost of boarding (including all above) is $11.00 per day

The cost of artificial insemination/collection is: $30.00 for the AI kit (which can be reused since I have an autoclave and can sterilize it after each use so you don't have to buy a new kit each time) Artificial Insemination per day is $20.00 which includes collection, insemination, holding her hindquarters up for 15 min then settled into a crate to relax with a peanut butter filled sterilized beef bone so she can relax for one hour following the insemination, this gives a chance for the sperm to fertilize her eggs.  This also includes a semen/sperm viability check prior to each insemination (I have a microscope). I have not AI'd a bitch that hasn't gotten pregnant but in the rare event that ever happens the next breeding would be free of charge. per day (this is typically done once a day to insure pregnancy & a good size litter, if you want a small litter let me know before hand because that typically can be managed).

If Dr. Jason L. Orr, BS, MS, D.V.M. does the progesterone testing the cost is $80.00 for the blood test, this gives an accurate status of her progesterone level, once it reaches 2 ng/mL then she is starting to ovulate and is ready to be bred. It can be expensive doing the progesterone tests and to avoid that cost if you are within driving distance I recommend dropping her off to stay approx. 5 days after the first signs of heat, min stay is 4 days to insure pregnancy but my stud is the best indicator of when she is ready to breed and when she is done ovulating and ready to go home.

I will post new pictures of Tearloch (and his off spring thus far) shortly, (the pictures of the pups on the puppy page are sired by Tearloch).  Tearloch has the best personality, and is obviously a born show dog; he's great with kids, cats, other dogs and is perfect in the show ring & on the show circuit. He was raised in our home, and is just the sweetest dog, but I never have to worry about walking alone at night with him by my side! He adores our next door neighbor's son who thinks Tearloch is the best soccer player ever; he is so gentle with kids given his size. I can't say enough great things about his personality, and what a ham he is! Tearloch throws all colors in his pups, fawns, reds, red/fawns, red brindles, fawn brindles & the rare black brindles. He's got a hair coat so beautiful & shiny you can practically see yourself in it; he literally stops traffic when I walk him!
