 There are 3 planes for dissection.

 1. Sagittal Plane~~ divides body into left and right parts. The "midsagittal" or "median" plane is the mid-line.

 2. Coronal Plane / Frontal Plane  (these are the same thing)~~ divides limbs into front and back.

 *Both Coronal and Sagittal are longitudinal planes.

 3. Transverse Plane~~ divides body into upper and lower parts.

 4. Dorsal Plane~~ body into ventral and dorsal.
