Site Goal:
|
This is a website devoted to all those who love Pokemon and Digimon.
I received a Pokemon Red at the age of nine, and when I caught my first
Pidgey, I was overjoyed. Now, I enjoy seeing the Pokemon and Digimon
shows on TV. For all of you out there who have kept loving the "fad",
this is for you. Pokemon and Digimon aren't fads. They are some of the
best things on the planet. (Or somewhere else). I hope you enjoy my
site. If you have any questions or comments, send them to scalyboy@comcast.net or thekingsintn@msn.com.

Pokemon of the Week #2: Shuckle
|
Shuckle. The Mold Pokemon
Shuckle has an interesting type combination that leaves him weak to
only Rock, Steel, and Water attacks. I think that a good strategy using
Shuckle is this:
Moveset:
Toxic
Dig
Rest
Rock Slide
Have Shuckle hold a Chesto Berry so he can wake himself up after using
Rest. You could switch out Rock Slide and put in Protect, but then you
wouldn't be able to do good damage to flying types. Another strategy
would be to Double Team, but you could just have Bright Powder instead
and hope you can Leech seed with someone else after using Mean Look or
something. I think this strategy works, however, since Rock and Ground
attacks cover each other's weaknesses nicely (i.e., Rock is bad against
Steel, but Ground is good against Steel. Ground is bad against Bug, but
Rock is good against Bug). Dig not only helps your opponent only hit
you half the time (and therefore take Poison damage twice the time),
but it also is super-effective against Poison and Steel, the two types
that will be immune to Toxic. Unfortunately, Shuckle may run out of
options when it comes to Skarmory, one of the most over-used Pokemon
ever. I really don't know how you could counter that. Shuckle will also
have tons of trouble against Lanturn or Tentacruel (though he'll be
able to dish out lots of damage with Dig). But still, Shuckle has a
nice type combo and is a decent 'annoyer'. He also can learn Rock Smash
and Strength, which makes him even more useful. Give it up for the
underrated Bug!
