Okay, so I guess the whole "Pokémon of the week" thing didn't work out exactly...
It's just that now that I'm in ninth grade, it's tough to find the time...
Okay, I'll stop making excuses...
Here are the "Featured Pokémon", which I will try to update as much as I can.
Monday, August 22, 2005: Okay. This guy's my all-time favourite Pokemon of
them all, so I decided to do him first. (First off, if you feel the need to
debate anything I say, please e-mail me (scalyboy@comcast.net or
thekingsintn@msn.com).
Here is one of the fastest and strongest Pokemon in the game. Kadabra and
Alakazam's strategy is to take opponents out with Special Attacks and never get
hit by an attack because of their high speed. Scyther takes this strategy to
the ultimate. His Speed is one of the fastest (quite possibly THE fastest in
Red, Blue, and Yellow), and his Attack is even higher! Also, unlike Kadabra and
many like him, Scyther's Defence and Special Defence are both quite above
average in their own right. His one bad stat is his dismal Special Attack, but
no one in their right mind gives him Special Attacks anyway. In FireRed and
LeafGreen, they revamped his moveset to let him know Wing Attack much earlier
and a cool Bug move, Fury Cutter that gains strength every time it hits (with
no max power) and gains an extra half strength when Scyther's HP is low.
Scyther in Action!
A good moveset for Scyther would be: Swords Dance, Fury Cutter, Slash, and Wing
Attack. (You could put in Double Team for Slash, but you'd miss out on Scyther
sweeping out the opposition with critical hits and huge damage after using
Swords Dance. A good Strategy against Scyther is to use an
Accuracy-lowering move to discourage his Fury Cutter, and then strike him with
a super-effective (preferably rock-type) attack. Scyther is one of my favourite
Pokemon because he is a great
counter to Psychic, Fighting, Grass, and even
other Bugs!
