Vivian made her Broadway début at the age of 29, in 1950, after touring nightclubs for two years. She could not find a better role than that of Miss Adelaide in "Guys & Dolls". Apart from being a wonderfully juicy role the part was a showpiece of all Vivian's talents & also allowed her to brake away from her studio mold.

With the triumph of "Guy's & Dolls", Vivian's stage career flourished & she could take her pick of some of the best productions in theatric history. She was reliable & thought of fondly by her collages. Vivian originated two other roles on Broadway in "Say Darling" & "Enter Laughing" as well as touring extensively in musical revivals & Plays (She also successfully tried her hand at a dramatic role in "A Hatful Of Rain".)

After appearing shortly in the reworked "Zorba" with Anthony Quinn in 1984, Vivian decided to retire from show business.
