Lickisto is a small low impact campsite situated on the wonderful isle of Harris;
Pounded remorselessly by glaciers during the last Ice Age it has an edge-of-the-world, ethereal feel with mile after mile of bare grey Lewisian gneiss bedrock interspersed with small lochans, bogs and occasional sheep. The rock is the oldest in Britain and at nearly two and a half billion years old, about half the age of the earth.
We are on the east side of Harris, facing the Minch,and are more sheltered than the west atlantic side of the island.
John and Harvey have been running this site for the last year, we aim to keep it small, friendly and as near to nature as possible...wild camping, individual pitches with good facilities.
