"The Truth"
Spike was sitting on the steps of the back porch of Buffy's house contemplating on giving her what he had to give her or not. He wasnt sure what was going on but he knew how he felt and he wanted the truth from her.
'Well i think i should just leave it here and see what she says about it.' Spike said as he walked over to the front of the house and knocked on the door. When he heard Buffy coming to open it he set the package on the floor and took off.
Buffy opened the door and looked around.
'Better not be some pranker or I'll kick their ass if they come back around.' Then Buffy looked down and saw a package laying on the ground. She picked it up and saw that there was a letter attached to it. 'To Buffy Summers'. Buffy didnt recognize the writting so she took the package in the house and opened the letter.
'Dear Buffy...I know how i feel about what's been going on between us lately but i dont know how you feel. I was listening to the radio and I heard this song and I decided that it was something that you needed to listen to. So here i made you a copy luv.
Spike'
Buffy opened the package and saw a tape laying in it. She sighed and walked up to her room and put the tape in.
The song started out sort of slow. At first she thought it was a love song but then she heard the lyrics start.
"So here we are
We are alone
There’s weight on your mind
I wanna know
The truth
If this is how you feel
Say it to me
If this was ever real
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth even if it hurts me"
Buffy looked at the cd player and started thinking about her and Spike's relationship as the song went on.
"So this is you
You're talking to me
You found a million ways to let me down
So I’m not hurt when you’re not around
I was blind
But now I see
This is how you feel
Just say it to me
If this was ever real
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth even if it hurts me"
Spike was standing by the tree listening to the song too. He didnt know how she would react to the package but he was happy that she was atleast listening to the song.
"I know that this will break me
I know that this might make me cry
You gotta say what’s on your mind, on your mind
I know that this will hurt me
And break my heart and soul inside
But I don’t wanna live this lie"
Buffy laided down on her bed and started to cry. She didnt know what she was doing with Spike but she knew she was hurting him.
"I want the truth from you
Give me the truth even if it hurts me
I want the truth from you
Give me the truth even if it hurts
I don’t care no more, no
Just give me the truth
Give me the truth
'Cause I don’t care no more
Give me the truth
'Cause I don’t care no more, no
Just give me the truth
Give me the truth
Give me the truth
Give me the truth
Give me the truth
'Cause I don’t care no more, no"
When the song ended Buffy got up and decided to go and tell Spike the truth for the first time.
Spike was tired of the lies and he figured Buffy wouldnt tell him the truth anyway so he decided to tell her how he felt.
They both met eye contact when Buffy opened the door and Spike was getting ready to knock.
"Spike."
"Buffy."
~The end~
You want more...let me know....i want good reviews.
The song is the truth by good charlotte.
Buffy and Spike stood there for a good 5 minutes before they actually said anything.
"Spike listen..."
"Buffy I need to..."
"No you first." They both said together.
Buffy sighed and looked at Spike.
"Ok listen I know what I'm doing is bad and it's horrible and It's not fair to you but Spike...God i cant do this." Buffy said as she turned around and shut the door.
"Buffy wait." Spike said as Buffy looked the door and he heard her run up the stairs. Spike sighed with defeat and turned around and left.
'If he can show me with music then i can do the same to him.' Buffy thought to herself as she went through her cd collection.
Buffy threw in her Sarah McLachlan Cd and turned on the song 'Fear'.
"Perfect." Buffy said as she recorded the song onto the same tape that Spike had recorded 'The Truth' on. When it was finished Buffy put it in a box and wrote a note to Spike. "Dawn I'm going out for a little bit." Buffy yelled up to her sister.
Buffy took off the the cementary. She knew it was kind of stupid to be doing this but she felt like he needed to know the things she couldnt say to his face. She set the box on the ground in front of the door and knocked on it. Then she took off as fast as her slayer legs could take her.
Spike smelled her before she even knocked. He knew she was going to come at some point but he figured it would be to knock him silly. But when he opened the crypt door all his eyes were met with was a box. Spike took the box inside his crypt and walked over to his comfy chair and opened the letter on top of it.
'Dearest Spike, I know that things are confusing right now. But i'm hoping that this can help. It's not much but it's the words that i'm more than a little afraid to say to you.
yours truly, Buffy'
Spike opened the box and put the tape in his cd player. The song started out a little different than he expected. But it was a little surprising the words that came out as he listened.
"Morning smiles
Like the face of a newborn child,
Innocent, unknowing.
Winter's end
promises of a long lost friend.
Speaks to me of comfort
But I fear
I have nothing to give.
I have so much to loose here in this lonely place.
Tangled up in your embrace
There's there's nothing I'd like better than to fall.
But I fear I have nothing to give.
Wind in time
Rapes the flower trembling on the vine
And nothing yields to shelter it from above.
The say temptation will destroy our love.
The never ending hunger
But I fear
I have nothing to give
I have so much to loose here in this lonely place
Tangled up in our embrace
There's nothing I'd like better than to fall
But I fear I have nothing to give.
I have so much to loose.
I have nothing to give.
We have so much to lose..."
Spike was out the crypt before the song was even over. He didnt know what he was going to say but he knew that he needed to talk to her and he had to do it now. Spike didnt have far to run because Buffy hadnt made it home. He found her sitting at her mother's grave.
"Buffy?"
Buffy looked up and saw Spike walked towards her. She knew he had listened to the song just by looking at his face. She stood up and made a silent promise to not fuck this one up.
"Hi Spike."
Spike looked at her and saw the determination in her eyes. He prayed to the gods that she would give him chance to talk to her before she killed him. Instead she did something that he least expected...She kissed him.
"Buffy?" Spike said as they broke apart.
"Listen I understand that you love me and stuff and that's fine but i cant love you Spike. Atleast right now. I cant love you when I dont even know if i can love myself. So Spike what I'm asking for right now is Time. Please just give me a little time." Buffy said as she looked at Spike with pleading eyes.
Spike looked at Buffy and took her hands and smiled. "Yes luv, you can have all the time in the world." Spike kissed her as she wrapped her arms around him and the world around them floated away. When they broke apart they couldnt stop looking at each other. Buffy smiled at Spike. "What now?"
Spike smiled and picked Buffy up and ran all the way home.
