MEMORABLE QUOTES

Here are a bunch of quotes from the VHD books that we found funny or intriguing or we just plain liked! There's so much fun to be found in the VHD books, I really couldnt go by without sharing it with my fellow D fans ^^. On some of them I've added my own comments of what I was feeling or thinking when I read them. ^^ They're not in any particular order so be careful of spoilets if you haven't read recent books!

Quote"Call me D,"
Comment This line is practically everywhere! Note how he never says "My name is D". He always says "Call me D" or something along those lines which makes you think that D isnt his real name...

Quote "Did you make her cry?" asked the Hunter.
"No way," Ry replied.
"You're going to be quite a heartbreaker."
"You're the last person I wanna hear that from,"

-Dark Nocturne, Page 55.

CommentLOL! Only too true! Doesn't D realise how utterly beautiful he is? Beautiful enough to make a young teenage girl cry. And then he goes around accusing others of doing it. Talk about ignorant! ^^

Quote "Damn! Hey, don't even think of helping me," the boy told the Hunter.
"If you drown, you'll leave Cecile all alone."
"Help me!"

An Ode to Imagined Fall, Page 83.

CommentQuite quick to change his mind there, wasn't he? XD

Quote The steel arrow flew straight for D's chest---then pierced it!

CommentOne of the few times D dies in the series. Obviously we know he's not really dead (cause there's still half the novel left) but you still get that DUN-DUN-DUUUNN!!! feeling in your heart and you can't help but feel concern. :(

Quote As she got to her feet, she said, "I'm sorry. I haven't even offered you tea."
Disappearing into the kitchen, she quickly reappeared with a steaming kettle and a teacup. Pouring the contents of the kettle into the cup, she said, "Here you go."
Her eyes were turned down as she offered him the drink.
Taking the cup in hand, D said, "Could I trouble you to put some tea leaves in it?"
With a stunned look she peered down at the cup, her face swiftly growing more and more flushed.
"I can't believe I did that---I'm sorry."
Opening the lid of the tea canister, she pulled D's cup closer.
Still looking straight down, she said, "There you are," and then set the cup before him once again.
D looked down emotionlessly at the cup filled to the very brim with black leaves, then brought it to his lips without saying a word.
"Oh, no! I've done it again, haven't I?"

CommentLOL! OMGOMGOMG! I laughed so much when I first read this and then I reread it over and over ^_^. The first time she gives him plain boiled water and the second time she gives him tea so strong it'd make a normal human gag!. Poor D, he didn't even have the heart to say anything the second time. XD
