Inside these pages you will find my poems, written from my heart, about my life, my loves, my fears but most of all my family, My dreams, and hopes for the future. I hope too that whoever visit and read these pages, will find a few words that they can identify with, and perhaps take away a few that will live in their memory for at least a little while.
It is also my great pleasure to showcase some of the magnificent work my friends from around the world, all writers passionate about words and language, whether it be in poetic form or just a good old fashioned tale.
Enjoy...
The Picture
A tribute to Sir John Betjeman
~
On cliff top he stood
As if, looking down at me
Hooting with laughter
At something I could not see
He looked small and cuddly
Delightfully ‘gay’
Gay, meant happy
On the cliff top that day…
~~
Hands in his pockets
Wearing a kipper tie
A scruffy old jacket
With trousers pulled high.
He made hay
His work sold
He was a little bit naughty
Yet, pure gold.
~~
This picture I hold
With a smile in my heart
Is someone familiar
Who has played a great part
In shaping my life
Made me realise my fate
My love of poetry
And this poet laureate.
