I asked this question since some wedding websites advise you not to get your wedding flowers from a home-based floral designer. They state that a home based designer is not "qualified" as a florist with an actual shop location would be. To this I say NOT ALWAYS TRUE! In my case and in the case of many I know of, a home based designer is someone who wants to work for themselves or is tired of the day to day grind of working for a full-service florist and would like to spend time with family and friends. I can give you professional care and quality at a lower price then most since I do not have the overhead (utilities, rent, employees) a regular floral shop would have. I can book wedding orders at most Holidays when a regular florist would be busy and not able to "squeeze" you in. I am available for evening consultations, most florists can only talk to you during business hours and I am able to give you the personal attention that a Bride deserves, you will not be just another wedding. At one place I worked at we often had 5-7 weddings a weekend plus the day to day work of hospitals, funerals etc. Often I felt I couldn't give the Bride the individual attention she needed. AND, I have the training and experience that any shop owner would have, perhaps more in some cases. I have done literally hundreds of weddings in the last 23 plus years! Below are some of my qualifications. Thank you for considering "Silk Weddings Etc. by Valerie"
