Valerio Cosi signs for Porter Records
Hi everybody!
There are exciting news to hear...
I’ve just signed a 5-years exclusive contract with Porter Records, an extraordinaire jazz (and far beyond!) label from USA (Florida).

Porter is a new emerging label with one of the most impressive release schedules around, working with legendary people such as Henry Grimes, Rashied Ali, Jeanne Lee, Birigwa, Odean Pope, Byard Lancaster, Ted Daniel, Heikki Sarmanto, Joe Chambers, Khan Jamal and lots of other incredible stuff.
First Porter release from Valerio Cosi will see the light in October/November of 2008.

UTON & VALERIO COSI - "Käärmeenkääntopiiri" OUT NOW! CD edition released by Fire Museum Records
Perhaps this collaboration was destined to happen, and we're overjoyed that it is happening here! Tampere, Finland's Uton (Jani Hirvonen) and Taranto, Italy's Valerio Cosi (who is ½ of Pulga after all) are two of the most creative and most prolific musicians working in experimental music at the moment, and on Käärmeenkääntopiiri, Uton and Valerio have mastered a sound that combines elements of psychedelia, free jazz, krautrock, environmental sounds, drones and more for an ecstatic listening experience.
A mélange of electronic and acoustic instrumentation, sounds here collide and join together as naturally as the coming of the tides. By turns meditative and forceful, introspective and extroverted, all the while commanding undivided attention from the listener. This is experimentation that remains inviting even in its darker passages.
2007 has been a banner year for both of these musicians, and this release finds them in top form, creating a work that shows exactly why they are in such high demand. Käärmeenkääntopiiri will leave you hoping this is the beginning of many more collaborations between these two.

A truly ethereal pairing from Italy. While MCIAA has already established a massive offering in all formats, this 7"is Valerio's first vinyl appearance proper. His side is dominated by free jazz sax loops and trance vocals, with moments of twinkling percussion and electronic euphoria. An amalgamation of improv styles pulled off in a way only Valerio can. On the flip is a beautiful example of the lush guitar ambiance, wordless vocals, and alien space toy sound effects that the Opalio brothers are known for. Gold ink offset printing on metallic vellum, clear vinyl with gold ink on white pro-printed labels. Edition of 500.

Hi friends! I'm back from a stressing month spent in an office, working for a pathethic DVD store, in my little village... I'm actually planning new stuff for next year, but I'm just excited about what you'll find soon... :
The first great news are that Uton & Valerio Cosi CD called "KÄÄRMEENKÄÄNTÖPIIRI" will be out very very soon, there's a pre-order ongoing right now through Fire Museum Records and the official release has a fixed date in 26th Nov!
Soon after, another wonderful album will see the light on Black Horizons, and it's a 7-inch split coloured vinyl with the italian space-duo My Cat Is An Alien. The LP is called "STORIES FROM THE VACUUM". One side will feature a Valerio Cosi track called "Astral Shipwreck, Part II", the MCIAA side has got a track called "Blue Beings". I think it's another delightful experience for all you cosmic jokers and travellers...Don't lose it! Edition of 500 copies, metallic ink on black vellum. VERY SOON!!!
December will also be a great month: "HEAVY ELECTRONIC PACIFIC ROCK" is my first solo effort to be released in a CD edition and it will be out on Digitalis Industries. I'm really excited about this one. For more updates you should go to see the label site at www.digitalisindustries.com. Alright! :)
