The La Crosse International Friendship Exchange is a club that has one main purpose: to integrate American and International students. This organization is aimed at helping international students acclimate to life here in the United States and has been expanding into much more than that.
This club is all about building friendships between American and International students at UWL by hosting events, trips, activities, and even time to sit down, enjoy a coffee, and just talk or play a cool game with somebody new.
It is a unique way to grow and learn by sharing interests, language, and culture!
It's a Chance to Relax and Hang Out with a Few Good Friends...
LIFE members are matched in small groups according to common interests, major areas of study, and language background at the beginning of the semester. Members of each small social group will receive contact information for their co-members within the first month of every semester. From there, it is up to the group to decide when to get together and what would be fun to do together!
...And a Chance to Enjoy Fun Activities with EVERYONE!
The LIFE organization also hosts various large group activites throughout the semester that all members are invited to attend in order to create even more cross-cultural friendships and connections. This year's events include Bowling and Pizza Nights, Game and Movie Nights, a Fall picnic at Goose Island Park, a Camping Trip to Perrot State Park, Biking the Great River State Trail, a Brewery Tour, a Pump House Tour, a Walking Tour of La Crosse's "Secret Sweet Spots," a Halloween Costume Party, a Trip to Noah's Ark in the Wisconsin Dells, a trip to the Mall of America, a Madison Bus Trip, Pumpkin Carving, the Corn Maze in West Salem, a Cross-Country Skiing Trip, a trip to Mount La Crosse for Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding, a trip to Riverside Park for the Rotary Lights, a Sledding Adventure, a Holiday "Winter Wonderland" Party, Dinner at Tequila's Mexican Restaurant followed by a Movie at Rivoli, Ice Skating, and an End-of-the-Year Potluck Picnic!!
The weekly meetings are held in a coffeehouse atmosphere where you can play a game just, well, RELAX!
