The UUSL church was begun in 2007 by Bizarre Berry and quickly grew to about 400 members -- one of the largest groups in Second Life.
We meet Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm SLT and Saturday mornings at 6:30 am SLT. (Second Life Time is the same as West Coast USA time.)
CoyoteAngel Dimsum hosts the UUSL sanctuary on her island in the Lovelace Sim. She graciously allows us the use of the media system so we can play music and hymns and allows us plenty of "prims" for building and making things work. Prims are the building blocks of matter and energy in Second Life, without which nothing can be accomplished.
There is a small Leadership Group currently serving until June 2008, which finds speakers from among the congregation and also guest speakers. There are about 500 members, although only about 20-25 attend any given service.
We believe that the Unitarian Universalist Church of Second Life contributes an additional dimension to Unitarian Universalism. For some of our members, this church is the only way to attend services due to their geographical location, disability, or other circumstances.
We also maintain a UU presence in the world of Second Life and attract people who had never before heard of our philosophy and faith.
