USS Dauntless
The Story so far…
In 2374, while the USS Voyager was stranded in the Delta Quadrant, Captain Kathryn Janeway and her crew encountered the Dauntless, a fake Federation starship with a never before seen quantum slipstream drive. After escaping the clutches of its pilot, desperate to make Voyager's crew suffer for his own people being slaughtered by the Borg, Captain Janeway secretly began work on upgrades to Voyager, hoping to implement them at some point during the journey home.
Three years later Voyager returned home, Janeway was promoted to Admiral and Chakotay was given command of the now famous starship. The upgrades were forgotten. In 2379, when the new Intrepid-class starships were being developed for exploration into the far reaches of known space, Admiral Janeway dusted off the plans and submitted them to the Advanced Starship Design Bureau. Many were approved and implemented in the new upgraded Intrepid-class starships.
The first of the new production-line models was the USS Dauntless, NCC-80210. Along with a combined stellar cartography and astrometrics laboratory, the Dauntless also boasted a state-of-the-art sensor probe array, upgraded weaponry, including phaser strips on the nacelles which provided a better rear aspect. Everything about the Dauntless was superior to Voyager, but now she needed a good captain for the trials that lay ahead…
