North Carolina Central Coast Region

From Dare County to Greene County to Carteret County to Pamlico County

4/3/09:   USERL-NCCC helped the Wayne County with 3 horses that were abandoned.  They are in the Wayne County Animal Control custody and in a foster home in Beaufort county.  One is blind and the other two are a mare and colt.  We are waiting to hear what is to happen with these horses. If anyone knows of a good foster please let Sue Meadows know at ncccrescue@yahoo.com.  We are in short supply of fosters. We need your help!!!!

2/27/09: Update on the Pamlico horses.  They are doing much better.  The one below is now able to get up and down by himself.  He is starting to put on weight.  Since his body score was so low it will take time for him to start looking good.   Thanks to many Pamlico residents for donations of hay and food and money for vet bills for these two horses.

2/17/09: We have added two more horses to our region.  We have Valentine and her colt: Willie Cute.

               Valentine                                                   Willie

In January we had two horses donated to the USERL from Pamlico County.  One was a body score of  less that 1 and the other was 1.5.  If anyone is interested in  donating funds to take care of these horses' vet bills and feeding bills, please send it to USERL-NCCC,  PO Box 358, Pollocksville, NC 28573

   Thanks for the second chance.

Let thanks WILLIAM FEED and GARDEN in New Bern for donation feed.  THANK YOU

Lets thank Fred and Cathy Fletcher of Washington and Wanda Morrow of Washington for donating LOTS of T-posts for fencing and T-caps and hot wire.  This has allowed us to have a FOSTER pasture build at one of our fosters to help some of our fostered horses to be at a very loving and caring family.  MANY, MANY THANKS TO THE FRED AND CATHY FLETCHER AND WANDA MORROW.
