The USAFA Parent's Association of Western PA is a private organization composed of parents, family, and friends of United States Air Force Academy Cadets from Western PA. The purpose of the Association is to provide news and support to parents during the time their son or daughter is away from home attending the Air Force Academy or Air Force Academy Prep School. We are a support and assistance group - supporting each other, our cadets, and of course, the Academy's efforts on behalf of our cadets. We also provide information and encouragement to parents of prospective cadets and Appointees. We share a great deal of pride in our sons and daughters for their commitment to serving our country. North Park –Emsworth Picnic Shelter

(2 shelters down from last year in front of playground)

Dinner at 5:00

What to bring:    a side dish/dessert to share (we will try to coordinate), lawn chair,       smiles, info. to share about your cadet, any pictures from web guy, beer (or whatever else  you would like to drink),   and wear your AFA apparel!!!

Provided:      Hamburgers and hot dogs, soft drinks/water, paper products, friendship and ALL the time you need to talk about your cadet!

 Directions:

From I79 (279) get off at the Mt Nebo Exit.  Off of the ramp go East toward Wexford (West takes you to Sewickley – wrong way!).  Go through the little village of Mt. Nebo, then past a restaurant on left called Recipes Remembered.  At the light, turn left onto Arndt Rd., top of hill turn left (stop sign) onto Ingomar Rd.   You will pass Clover Hill Golf course, you will continue on this road through a couple of stop signs, then through the little town of Ingomar.  You will come to the light at Rt.19, go straight, continue straight through the next 2 lights.  You are now in North Park.  Our shelter is the third one on the left with a bright red roof in front of the playground (no sign on street).  Turn left at the brick pillar and the sign that says “LEET”.

Or from South, traveling McKnight Road. Go north on McKnight Road until you see the North Park exit on the right.  This is about 2 ½ miles past Northway Mall on the left and Vincentian High School on the right  (Peebles Road).  You on now on Ingomar road, continue to the right, past the batting cages and driving range.  Straight thru next light.  Turn left at the brick pillar (comes up quickly on your left)  and “LEET sign.

Or from 179 traveling south get off at the Cranberry Exit and take Rt 19 South thru Wexford.  Down hill past North Allegheny H.S. veer right onto McKnight Rd.  Turn left at 2^nd light at the Cinemas. Turn left at next light onto Ingomar Rd, past the batting cages and driving range.  Straight thru next light.  Turn left at the brick pillar (comes up quickly on your left)  and “LEET sign.

From Turnpike get off at the Butler Exit (used to be #3).  Turn left on the ramp towards Pgh, Rt. 8 South.  Go through Allison Park, turn right onto Wildwood Ext. (second light past Wendy’s on the right).  Go straight thru light in North Park; turn right at brick pillar under the “LEET” sign.  If you get to the batting cages, you past it about ¼ mile ago.  Turn left, go past playground and Emsworth is the next to last shelter.

2009 AFAPAWP Parent’s Weekend Football Game and Tailgate

Saturday, September 5^th

Football game against Nicholls State – Kick off at 12:00 PM

To purchase tickets with the group, go to www.goairforcefalcons.com.  Open up “tickets” and click on the drop down “group ticket window”.  Hit “click here to sign in” at bottom.  Enter promotional code STEEL.  Purchase the number of tickets you would like.  The cost is $22.50 a piece plus a $2 email delivery fee.  Seats are located in the M10 M11 area.  These tickets bought individually through the regular website cost $36 a piece!   NOTE:  The code will only be live between JUNE 15^th and JUNE 30th  After that any unsold group tickets we have set aside will be released and you may have difficulty getting a seat near the group.  Also, the tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Tailgate immediately following the game

Why sit in a hot, dusty car waiting for the traffic to clear?  Come join us for food and fellowship.  The AFAPAWP canopy will be located at site 2AE space 19.  Look for a blue and white tent flying a Steeler’s banner.  There will be pulled pork, smoked turkey, salads, baked beans, soda, and some sweets for dessert.

Cost is $18 per person for members, $22 per person for nonmembers, and $10 for children under 12.  Of course, cadets are free.
