Hello Bryan Chan! Thank you for talking to us!
BC: Hey, thanks for hanging out with me...
So what happened to LMNT? They were a great band and than they just dissapeared.
BC: We had been working together for four years...I think it was just time for a break. We had all been itching to work on onther projects with people that we had met over the years, different styles of music and different vibes. We had a great run together, but all good things have to end at some point. It's a nice change up...the music I'm working on now is the type of material that I've wanted to do for a long time. I don't worry about choreography or switching harmonies ...it's all to a live band.
Before LMNT you tried out for "Making The Band" with O-Town and you were one of the 8 people that got a chance. How was it like getting so physced and than saying you didn't make the cut?
BC: It was miserable. I remember packing my stuff and asking myself if it was really over. It had all happened so fast that it was a complete high for three months - then it all came to a complete halt....so I sulked for a few weeks then picked myself up and said that I would make something happen for myself....that's when I started to put LMNT together.
Now you're done with the Boy Band thing and now you have your own career. Can fans excpect the same sounds as o-town or LMNT or something totally different?
BC: No it's got it's own sound....definitely a departure from anything that LMNT ever did. Running Home - the song I wrote on ALL SIDES is probably the closest thing to what I'm working on right now....but I guess that would make sense...duh, sorry.
When did you decide to go solo?
BC It was fall of last year, we had just performed at Atlantic City with Nick Carter and I got to see his show. He was on his own without Backstreet and he had an amazing band bahind him...I thought "OK" - I know what I'm after.
Your CD "The Solo Sessions" is now availble on your website. What can we expect of your CD?
BC: It's got a great first single called "In My Head" - it was the first song I wrote with my production team in Nashville. It's got a catchy groove and reminds me of early Hootie and the Blowfish. There's a ballad called "So Beautiful" that Scott Davis and I originally tried to write as a wedding song - about marriage and love - but ended up being a strong love song about the perfect girl. And "Don't Cry For Me" is a sentimental song about lost love.....
it's all organic, no special effects, no filters, just me and some live instruments. There's some sample clips on the site - but it's not the same as having the full CD and the full songs...I hope you like it....
