IAN BROWN

AECC,ABERDEEN 11-02-06

We went to see Ian Brown last night. I like his music, I love the Stone Roses too. But seeing him live was a let down he did the usual 'Hello Aberdeen' and 'Thankyou' before and after each song. But he couldn't actually sing. And he just sauntered around the stage. I wanted a show!!! Don't get me wrong I did enjoy it, the music was good and I got into it, but it just wasn't quite right.
also the 7000 sellout crowd enjoyed it too..

lots of locals there as the guitarist that plays with him is from aberdeen, he was in a stone roses tribute band (from aberdeen)that ian had heard about that are supposed to be the best, so he went along to hear them(allegedly) and hired the guy for the tour...

JEFF WAYNES MUSICAL VERSION OF WAR OF THE WORLDS

CARDIFF ARENA 16-04-06

Had the great pleasure of having tickets to cardiff arena  to see this show which i believe to be the best show i have ever seen.. this was fooking awesome,They a had a 3d Richard Burton head doing the narrating, just like the original album, Justin Hayward was also back... with animation movie in the background of the tri-pods invading earth.. kept true to HG Wells original story set in victorian times...

The thing that amazed me was how many people who have never heard of this album Confused
released in 1978 it charted in 22 countries going to no.1 in 11 of them...and has rarely been out of the charts since it,s release..has been awarded gold or platinum status in all but five of them...
i could rave on about this album/show all night has been one of my fave albums ever..so to see it finally in a show format...excellent...

so if u havent heard this album why + do so Laughing

if u wanna see what richard burton looks like now..

BABYSHAMBLES

MUSIC HALL ABERDEEN 22-05-06

we decided to head to the Babyshambles gig simply to see what the fuss was about. we didn't think we knew any of their songs, and didn't expect to enjoy the evening. How wrong we were! The two support acts passed us by and the crowd were getting merry on the watered down beer. By the time the Babyshambles came onto stage everyone was well up for it and got straight into the music, and showed their appreciation by throwing full cups of beer at Pete Doherty, who didn't look too fussed by it, and surprisingly didn't look too out of it either. However half way through the first song there was a pop and all sound went. The band stood around waiting for it come back on, and then were promptly informed that the fire alarms were going off and we had to evacuate the whole venue! Chaos ensued with the fans outside fighting, clamering to see the band and climbing on trucks to catch a glimpse. Inside other fans refused to leave and more fighting ensued. The cops were called in to try and control the crowd, but finally once all were back in the venue the thing that seemed to work the best was the band coming back onstage. Pete Doherty was as straight faced as ever through the whole show, but we managed to see a smirk arise when he said "they've asked me to calm you lot down. Not sure what they want me to do... sing a lullaby?!" so he decided on Pipedown which was perfect! After having such low expectations of the band they proved us wrong again and again by playing fantastically and pumping out one cracking tune after another. I also realised how many hits they'd had as I recognised tunes such as Albion, Kalmangiro, Sticks & Stones and F**k Forever. The only time we saw any sign of Pete flailing was after he came back on for the encore and was stumbling around on stage. And yet he still managed to sing and mantain fantastic charisma on stage. Would I see them again? Hell yeah. Would they play the same? I doubt it. I'm sure every show with these guys will produce something different, and something to remember at that.

Went to innocent fruitstock free festival in regents park london on saturday.. It is put on by the innocent smoothies people... hence the reason u can only get innocent smoothies (no coke, lemonade etc) and beer... We saw the Puppini Sisters (who u may have seen on tv ads) who sing in forties style.. they are fab and sung hits like panic (the smiths),heart of glass (blondie), i will survive,mr sandman to name a few... i really enjoyed this + so did sally + the rest of the crowd....
there is lots to do here,a knitting area (no i didnt do this), a relaxation area,a library, lots for the kids to do, a dance tent, a flirting area where i met the puppini sisters.... also saw norman jay (drum + bass dj)..

had a smoothie at one point but didnt realise that once they had put the ingredients in the blender, i had to get on a bike attached to the blender and cycle to make the blender mix your smoothie...

RAZORLIGHT

AECC ABERDEEN 21-10-06

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT RAZORLIGHT? I LOVE THIS BAND AND HAD ONLY  SEEN THEM ONCE PREVIOUSLY AT GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL. I WAS VERY EXCITED ABOUT SEEING THEM AGAIN AND WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED. MANY PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT RAZORLIGHT BECAUSE OF JOHNNY BORRELL BEING A BIG HEADED GIT. I DONT CARE ABOUT THAT, ON STAGE THEY ROCK! THEY PLAYED A VARIETY FROM THE FIRST AND SECOND ALBUM, EVEN DOD (WHO'S NOT SUCH A FAN) COULD EASILY TELL WHICH WERE THE OLD ONES AS THE CROWD GREETED THESE WITH MUCH MORE VIGOUR. THAT SAID THE NEW ONES WERE WELCOMED WITH MANY CHEERS TOO, AND THE WHOLE SET BLENDED FANTASTICALLY. THE CLASSICS WERE SAVED FOR THE END, FINISHING WITH SOME OF MY FAVES "GOLDEN TOUCH" AND "RIP IT UP". JOHNNY HAD A GREAT STAGE PRESENCE ALTHOUGH A LITTLE MORE INTERACTION WITH THE CROWD WOULD NOT HAVE GONE AMISS.

(ONE OF THEIR SUPPORT ACTS DESERVES A MENTION, THEIR NAME ESCAPES ME BUT THEY WERE A 3 PIECE GIRL ROCK BAND. THEY HAD THE RIGHT IMAGE FOR THE MUSIC, BUT THE WAY THEY RAN ON AND OFF STAGE LET THEM DOWN... THEY PRANCED ON RUNNING LIKE 11 YEAR OLD GIRLS! AND GIGGLED OFF IN THE SAME MANNER! I THINK THAT'S THE ONLY REASON WE REMEMBER THEM!!!!)
