___ 1. And We said: O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the garden, and eat ye freely of the fruits there of where ye will; but come not near this tree lest ye become wrongdoers.

___ 2. O Children of Israel! Remember My favor wherewith I favored you and how I preferred you to all creatures.

___ 3. And remember when We did deliver you from Pharaoh's folk, who were afflicting you with dreadful torment slaying your sons and sparing your women: That was a tremendous trial from your Lord.

___ 4. And when We did appoint for Moses forty nights of solitude, and when ye chose the calf, when he had gone from you, and were wrongdoers.

___ 5. Say O Muslims: We believe in God and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Issac, and Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received, and that which the Prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered.

___ 6. And when the angels said: Oh Mary! Lo! God hath chosen thee and made thee pure, and hath preferred thee above all women of creation.

___ 7. And I come confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you with a sign from your Lord, so keep your duty to God and obey me.

___ 8. She said: My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal hath touched me? He said: So it will be. God createth what He will. If He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.

___ 9. One among them said: Kill not Joseph but, if ye must be doing, fling him into the depth of the pit; some caravan will find him.

This is not to praise the Qur'an more than any other book, but rather to help those who are not familiar with the Qur'an to realize that (while it is different) it is incredibly similar to the Old and New Testament.
